Here’s a new discovery. The posts actually exist on the correct permalink, eg, if I type in what should be correct URL for a post I haven’t already fixed, like, aworldofprogress.com/blog/2011/name-of-post, it will go to Name of Post’s post page, and there it’ll be. But the archive pages or the main page or the edit page — wherever there’s a link to the page, it’s the wrong permalink, eg, aworldofprogress.com/name-of-post or aworldofprogress.com/somecategory/name-of-post.

I’d really love finding a workaround or a fix for thise.

i realise that. I no longer need the relationship. The post on the main blog is what I need, but the permalinks are screwed up.

And now here’s something new I just learned: When the post with the bad permalinks tweets using wordtwit or what have you, it tweets the correct permalink, and the post is there.

So the problem is that posts exist on a page with the correct permalink — they are at year/postname. But the links that the site uses are wrong, i.e., the one that’s on the edit page, postname.

And one more thing — when I change the permalinks to the default, the old posts just go to the blog mainpage. When I try to make it custom, that’s when it goes to the 404 page.

Lemme know if you need to see the site. It’s under maintenance mode currently, but I’ll lift it if you do.
