Same issue – blank screens after update, delete via FTP and when attempting to install fresh WP says: “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error”

Couldn’t agree more – seems like such a backward step. I’m also yet to even have the lesser stats actually load for me, I constantly get forwarded to wordpress.com instead.

I’m having EXACTLY the same problem as jennyr above – I’ve been using my blog for months and today I suddently got the ‘Your session has expired. ERROR: Invalid username’ message. ????

guessing no-one else is experiencing this..

I am getting this exact same issue since upgrading to 2.2.2 – duplicates appearing in stats dashboard. Any ideas?

Older version of Google Sitemaps was the cause.

I’ve read through both those and still can’t see what the issue is – it’s just those error messages but the posts can still be published etc…

Yep emails have definitely stopped – does this mean you can’t change permalink structure mid-stream?

Update – it seems like it is definitely related to having changed the permalink structure – I’ve switched back to default and I’m not getting any emails. Does nayone have any ideas of how to resolve it as I’d prefer to use the name and date-based structure…

Sorr one other thing – like the original poster both the problem URL and referring URL change to a nmber of variants

Around 24 hours ago I started getting the same issue – I’m getting around 5 of these per hour. The exact text is:

“A user tried to go to https://www.mydomain.com/favicon.ico and received a 404 (page not found) error. It wasn’t their fault, so try fixing it.

They came from https://www.netvibes.com/”

The email comes from noreply@mydomain

Any ideas? Th eonly change I’ve made during that time is changing permalink structure to name and date-based from default – everything still works fine, links from other sites still work etc…

Update – I ended up doing a full re-install and the issue is resolved – still no idea what caused it in the first place – thanks for the help though ??

Hi Moshu,

Uploaded a frsh copy of wp-admin, same problem remains. As shown in the pic it seems like WP is used to loading a graphical representation but I’m damned if I can see how to stop it.

As far as when it occurred, it was happening before 2.1 but perhaps occurred after a previous upgrade…
