essentially my website goes down every night at the same time it appears

I don’t think my host can help (or acts like they can’t) so any ideas would be great please

thank you Esmi, I really have no clue and rely on this for a large part of my business! not heard from them back yet but hoping they will be able to resolve it… as said I gave not changed anything but if the public access is 711 and the files inside it i.e. wordpress content is 755 i have no idea if this is why I get the message (and all visitors to the website) or if it is some other reason.

Have had no response from the host as yet – still not back up and working however the other sites from the same host are working so I’m not sure what the issue could be?

Apologies for the bump – I have emailed them this morning – hopefully will get a response today – but as I said I do have another couple of websites with them which are running with no problem so i’m not sure.

It had a username and password which worked and now i am back in but why did this happen & how do i protect myself? apologies for the poor knowledge!

Thank you Andrew – that actually worked and the background was overridden!!

I just have one more question about it which you may be able to help with – If i wanted the background to only kick in after the blue line so it would go

blue
grey
blue
background (instead of the partial grey then background starting again)

if not no worries – hopefully I can use what you have taught me to work around with something i.e. editing the image perhaps –

Im not using a child theme – When I click directly on dashboard I cannot see any of the above – however I have jetpack installed and have an edit css on the appearance tab and have the usual php templates when I click on editor – sorry im not being as clear as possible!

Just a quick question in that because I want to avoid changing the theme if possible – is there any way for me to find and remove this styling in the CSS instead of changing the theme!? (im not a code writer at all so it could be in the other functions, header etc – sorry about this!)

thanks for the response – sorry to be a pain – if I switch themes will all my layouts be changed if I did switch back? I did a live preview of 2012 and it seems to be showing thr images so it must be the theme Im guessing?
