Thanks

In reply to: What exactly is "no role for this site" doThose that leave comment on our sites, don’t have a Subscriber accounts, we use Disqus for our comment system.
My main concern is that we don’t lose the articles, and that past bloggers can’t log into the site.
??

In reply to: What exactly is "no role for this site" doOk, but “No role for this site” works as well, if I don’t want/need them in the “Subscriber” role?
Thanks again

In reply to: What exactly is "no role for this site" doHello,
I run several blogs where I would rather not delete bloggers that are no longer writing for us. I started using “No role for this site” so I could keep their articles intact, and prevent them from being able to log in, without having to delete the author and transfer the articles to another author.
Is this a good way to use this role?
Thanks!

In reply to: Can't create the directoryYeah, I don’t think they’re willing to transfer his site to another server.
But I did try the rest, and it still doesn’t work.
I really need to get this fixed, if anyone can give me other suggestions than what’s above (which I’ve tried), it’d really help.

In reply to: Can't create the directoryI at least need to find a way to export all posts, pages, etc. to an XML file. The WordPress Export Tool doesn’t work any more.
What else is possible?

In reply to: Can't create the directoryI have all the files on my computer now. But I’m starting to think the database is corrupt. I’ve tried the repair tool and it claimed the database was fine. So I don’t know what else to do.
If I uninstall this WordPress, and reinstall a fresh copy, and then copy all these files back – without the database – will the posts, tags, pages, etc. still be there?
Thanks

In reply to: Can't create the directoryI also tried to Export the blog, and I get the following error: The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
It’s like a no-win with this blog now. I need to at least export the blog, so I can start from scratch that way.
Help, PLEASE. :}
Thanks

In reply to: Can't create the directoryI’m having the same issue, and tried all of the above. I’m still getting the error.
I installed a fresh copy of WordPress, and it was able to post fine, but when I restored the database, the issue returned.
The hosting company, BluDomain, is saying they can’t do anything else, and have referred me back here. I need this to work, and suggestions other than the above.
I never have this issue with GoDaddy, so I can’t understand why this is happening.
PLEASE help!

In reply to: No web.config File?I was hoping I’d be able to find the answer to the web.config file. I’m in the same boat you are Koolstr. My blog is working, and I can get past the home page, but I’d like to activate Permalinks so my site is searchable by post name.
Can anyone tell me how to create this non-existent web.config file?
Thanks!
