  • My problem fixed itself. Yesterday, after doing nothing, I was able to publish.

After a bit of analysis and researc, it was apparent from the start that the problem is caused by a plug-in.

I found an article about plug-ins automatically, and unknown to users, updating themselves. If that is true I imagine it’s what happened to me, since I didn’t change anything.

I don’t have my problem fixed completely but it is manageable for the moment, and I can publish.

First, go to plugins and disable ALL plugins. Disable them all at once, not individually.

Then try publishing. On my site, the post published but the page would not display, as it was hanging while loading the Recent Posts, giving me this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mdv_recent_posts() in /home/oceanguy/public_html/wp/wp-content/themes/a1a/r_sidebar.php

I then have to go back to plugins, and activate the Recent Comments plugin to get the page to display… the newly published post shows up. but then I can”t publish.

In summary, the work around fix, is to turn off all plugins. Activate them one at a time to see which one is the problem. Try publishing until it works.

Still if the plug is is active, the site displays but I cannot publish.
If the plugin is deactivated I can publish but the home page won’t display.

Frustrating, but I’m still working on it.

    Hope that helps.

I’m having the same problem with version 2.5. The blank pages started while using version 2.1.3 and have not changed since upgrading.

I have deactivated, uninstalled and reinstalled the two plug-ins I use. I have worked with my host to eliminate server issues, and I am still unable to post.

I am able to save the post… even though I click ‘save’ I still get a blank page, but when using the back button, the post does get saved as a draft. ‘Publish’ doesn’t work at all.

I posted the problem earlier this week with only one response, from someone else with the same problem

More reason to go to a Mac…

Anyway, I have tried the following with the help of my host company:

    – upgraded the original to 2.3.3
    – removed the rpc pingers from Options -> Writing
    – exempted the site from mod_security
    – disabled ALL plugins and tested
    – changed theme to default and tested

    – copied the database (original is now oceanguy_wp_bak) and installed a fresh copy of wp 2.5 in the wp/ directory, same exact posting problem

-moved the entire account to a different server, with a completely different environment (php5) and it still does the exact same thing

    WP folks please Help!

lexhair, that is the way it is set up. ONLY in Firefox version 2.0.0.3 does it act differently. I’ve contacted the Mozilla folks too.

In some posts, SOME links work properly. But at https://oceanguy.com/?p=1834 none of the links do.
