Jennie with Firefox a link to a .jpg will show as a favicon in the addy bar and on the tab. Like this example and that is why you were able to change the .ico to a .jpg and have it show.

I didnt use a plug in or add code, I uploaded to and it shows.
This was a .gif and I just renamed it to .ico and it shows as animated.

Internet Explorer handles favicons differently and that would be why you would need a plug in to have it show in IE.

Great, now I have to see if the rest of my plugins are up to date.

I have no problem adding more pages, even when the dashboard showed that I had more pages than approved (which I don’t know why I would have to have it approve pages on my own URL) they would still show as tabs above the header.
Maybe a shot in the dark add some content to the About Me page and then try to add another page. (I recall adding content in each page before saving).
I’m using WP 2.7 and Elegant Grunge 1.0.3
Sorry I couldn’t be of help, came by to see if someone had answered my prior question and at least let you know others have no problem adding pages.
