In reply to: Creating a new menu with dropdown boxes?I can’t think of anything. The only thing I can say is that since you’re already creating a new page for each grade each week, if you really want it that way you may have to add each page to the menu independently.
Sorry I can’t be of more help. Maybe someone else can step in here.
I would, if I were you, consider eliminating the pages for each week and turning them into posts so you not only need less pages, but it will flow more naturally. This would most likely require custom post types or an organized taxonomy and a way to manipulate the loop. My theme gives me that option inherently, but maybe something like LoopBuddy if you don’t want to code it out.
Sorry I can’t help you more with this. I hope you find a way to get what you’re looking for.

In reply to: Creating a new menu with dropdown boxes?I honestly don’t know how much of this is going to be theme specific. You “should” be able to layer your pages like THIS EXAMPLE
My theme, I believe, allows inherently for 2 menus. By that I mean I can have 2 different menu areas right out of the box. One on top and one on the side for example. That may not be the case with yours but you seem to have overcome that with the links on the right hand side.
You also ‘should’ be able to just remove the pages you don’t want in the top from the menu completely and leave access to them on the side the way they are.
I was able to recreate this functionality on my blog AS SEEN HERE using that method, but I use Headway Themes which allows for far more customization out of the box than do most. Hopefully this helps.

In reply to: Creating a new menu with dropdown boxes?Yes, themes can have menu restrictions. Can you include a link with some specifics on what you’re looking for? Example: “I want potato chips to be a drop down menu of food”

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] rel="author" missing from homepage? On second thought (again, not enough info to be sure), you may want to start off by checking who the author is for that page. If you just changed the name of the original sample page it may not show up as you being the author of that page. There may be other reasons why you would not be listed as the author as well.
So WordPress SEO should be assigning all of your posts/pages with you as the author. Since you’re saying all the other pages are fine, it may just be a simple matter of checking to make sure YOU are listed as the author. If you are not, change that and try again.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] rel="author" missing from homepage? So… let me start by saying there are probably a couple of ways of doing exactly what you are asking. One would depend on the theme you are using and the other would require you to get into your header in _____.php file. Since you’re asking this question, I’m going to assume you don’t play around with that and I wouldn’t recommend it anyways.
Instead, I would recommend you DO NOT put this in your header file. It will probably work just fine, but may have some unintended consequences if you have more than one person posting on your site. You didn’t include a website or enough information to really give a more specific answer. So here are my two recommendations:
1) Consider if your homepage really needs authorship markup. It may very well be that your home page is also your blog page and your posts are already marked up. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t bother with it because it’s your posts you’re trying to drive traffic to and your homepage is somewhat irrelevant in the scheme of things. It’s also never likely to rank higher on anything than your posts because you aren’t tailoring SEO for the page.
2) If you have a landing page as your home page, then the simplest answer would be to put a catchy line like the following into the text editor:
<a href="https://plus.google.com/"your number here"?rel=author">Check me out on Google+</a>
Hope that helps.

In reply to: 404 Page when selecting author's nameJust wanted to tell you that this worked and say thanks for all the help. It obviously took longer than expected, but it’s good not and it forced me to go back and make some changes to some of my earliest posts (tagging and categories). Thanks a bunch!

In reply to: 404 Page when selecting author's nameI’ll give it a try, even though I don’t currently see any. That’s going to take some time to do individually and reset my profile. I’ll try to update here tomorrow if I can’t do them today. Thanks for the help.

In reply to: 404 Page when selecting author's nameP.S. I want to thank both of you for helping me out with this one. Now that I know what it’s doing, I’m far less concerned. I would still like to fix it, mostly just because it’s the only way I’m going to learn, but if my 5 readers can’t figure out that I’m the only one posting anyways…. well, my friends just ain’t usually that smart. And I don’t want to waste anymore of your time when you could be helping people with real problems.
If either of you feel like continuing for the sake of tackling a problem, I’m in. But I truly appreciate your efforts either way ??

In reply to: 404 Page when selecting author's nameEsmi – apologize for not recognizing what it was saying when I opened the link. Executed as listed and still no results.
Seacoast – that works great! Not sure what to do to fix it though. In fact, I have no idea how that even turned out to be anything. I’ve got nothing listed solely as gringo (caveat, I may have when I first started the blog when I had even less of a clue what I was doing than I do now) Any thoughts or would this require an entirely new install? I can’t find anything in HostGator settings either.

In reply to: 404 Page when selecting author's name– deactivating ALL plugins did not resolve the problem.
– switching to twenty twelve resulted in no author’s name listed.
– Resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin sounds like you’re speaking greek to me.

In reply to: 404 Page when selecting author's nameSorry… Frustration got the better of me.
https://www.thisgringotravels.com is my website.
I’m running Headway Themes, which doesn’t seem to be the issue. And I can’t think of anything else that might be relevant since I’ve already tried without all plugins. Thanks for the response.

In reply to: removed home page but blog index remainsPlease disregard. Somehow after a week of trying to figure this out, asking here caused the answer to magically come to me. It was a function of theme and I was able to figure it out. Sorry to take up space and time.
