In reply to: [Gutenberg] Sometimes It’s Best To Simply Cut LossesYeah, right, it took WordPress 15 years to be what it is now, and you think something better is goint to show up just like that…WordPress is no longer a piece of software, it’s an ecosystem that has took many, many years to build. It’s not going to be replaced that easily. If you want a different blogging/cms platform you have many choices, but with the versatility and diversity of the WordPress ecosystem, none of them holds a candle.
And honestly, you can disable Gutenberg, or have a dual Gutenberg/Classic Editor environment just as easy – Disable Gutenberg plugin is great at that.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Very DisappointingGutenberg is not a builder, TinyMCE never was WYSIWYG.
And isn’t enough for you to disable Gutenberg and use the old editor? there are like a hundred different ways to do so now. Disable Gutenberg plugin comes to mind as the best right now for this task.
Hi:
Thanks for answering. Heres a little vid showing what I’m trying to do:
https://monosnap.com/file/A3iSFRfURVQNwcw1LUgSo7vhEJXEQd
As you can see, there are no Chrome extensions, no other activated plugins except BD. Chrome is 71.0.3578.80. Theme is Twenty Seventeen. WP 4.9.8 running on local setup, by way of Local by Flywheel.
Any ideas?
P.S. in the vid the mouse cursor doesn’t change shape, but it does change to a four-direction arrow head.

Thank you very much.
Ok…that’s why I opened the ticket, it doesn’t show *any* of my Elementor-built pages.

3 days, no answer. And Finder was THE feature of that release. Oh well.

Try adding the following line in your wp-config.php file. Add it just before ‘That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging’ line wp-config.php:
define('WP_ALLOW_REPAIR', true);
Once you have done that, you can see the settings by visiting this page: https://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/maint/repair.php
In case it works, remove the line you added to wp-config.php, because this process doesn’t require a login.
If you have access to phpMyAdmin from your hosting panel, you can also repair the tables manually.

In reply to: Fatal errorTry pasting this code in wp-config.php file just before the line that says ‘That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging.’:
define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ );
Save the file and try again with your site.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Elementor is so much more intuitiveJust one thing, usability *has* improved a lot from 2.0.0 to the latest version. I’m not saying is top-notch, but it has certainly improved.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Elementor is so much more intuitiveYep, you’re right about Gutenberg wanting to be a builder (it’ll be the second phase)…it may be true in the future, but right now it isn’t; it needs *several* features before it can be considered a full-fledged builder.
As a side note, the Finder feature is part of version 2.3.x and Not of Elementor Pro; to be clear, I’m not asking support about Elementor Pro, I mention it in this post because it may be useful to the plugin author(s) to know that I’m running Pro also, because it may affect it.

Anyway, you should calm down…Gutenberg is not mandatory (not now and neither when 5.0 is released) and you can still use Classic Editor to continue working.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] A huge, positive changeSorry, but to be a developer is to embrace change. That’s a fact.
