In reply to: [Gutenberg] Lol can’t believe you guys haven’t gotten the hint yet. Those “arrogant teenagers” are volunteers that produce free software that you can use on your sites and also profit from it. Yeah, curse the lot of ’em…
That software, by the way, is licensed under the GPL v2. I suggest reading it, particularly sections 11 and 12 to have a better understanding of the free software you are using.
*Anywho*…
I don’t think there is such thing as “removing this from WordPress core” anymore, that ship sailed long ago; the future of WordPress is nothing but blocks. And as for the 1-star ratings… 2k+ 1-star ratings and 55M downloads just for WordPress 5.5 alone…there is no comparison. However, anti-Gutenberg reviewers should really understand that there is no coming back to WordPress pre-Gutenberg. It is just not possible anymore.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Disfunctional editorJust trying to help:
The Gutenberg editor misses essential features like producing “indents”, for which one should use the classic editor block.
The feature exists on several blocks (lists for example), for indenting text I suggest trying a layout (two columns, adjust width, left column left blank, right column paragraph) or the easy way, install https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/block-options/.
Ones own html snippets might get rewritten or result into display problems in the wysiwyg editor mode.
Depending on the content of the snippet yes, that might be a problem. What does that snippet of yours?
It is not possible to leave the block structure to move around aspects like pictures.
You mean like wrap text around an image? that is possible – you have a character style for inline images, or if you want blocks to do that add an image block, align it to the left, paragraph block automatically shows to the right. Unless I’m missing something…
Anyway, hope it helps.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] editor really slow and laggy after 500+ words@drakz @brockly
Well, that’s weird. My site has 38 plugins active, no problem whatsoever. Like I said, at 12K words the editor is very usable still. Have you both tried to run your browser in an Incognito/Private mode? also, you should try changing to a stock theme, something like 2020 or some other of that family, I particularly like 2017 for testing. I use GeneratePress Premium by the way, which has great Gutenberg support. Themes can make the Gutenberg experience very pleasant or extremely frustrating.
Just saying, I wouldn’t run two caching plugins, especially if that other plugin is SG Optimizer. I also have YASR and Yoast SEO, so I don’t think those are the culprits.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Removed “Uploaded to this post” filter and so many bugsJust trying to help:
– If by features you are referring to the available blocks, use the quick insert shortcut (/).
– Well, nothing can be done about that for the moment.
– Point taken, but not much of a problem for me, maybe a mere nuisance. However, the new counter feature is richer, showing document structure and possible errors.
– ?Ctrl + A not working?
– Agreed.
– SEO plugins take care of that.
– Agreed, but again, a nuisance for me, as I have very little use for it. Gutenberg + Editors Kit + CoBlocks offer anything I need.I hope it helps.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] editor really slow and laggy after 500+ wordsYou should check your site health, I’ve written 12K word posts with Gutenberg and saw little performance degradation.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] not very good. well, actually rather terribleHow about telling the devs what are those features that you expected to see? also, it would be helpful if you tell them what does not work right in your setup.
Thanks, it works.
Is there any way to do it with [directorist_category]?
This is just me, but when something doesn’t work and everyone is praising it, I try to go the extra mile just to be sure that isn’t me the one that is wrong.
And even when everything else fails, I always try to remember: this is free. Developers are giving us their time and work, for free.
Yes, there are shitty plugins. This is *not* one of them.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Should be optional add-on plugin.First, let me say that I totally understand your review.
Second, you can have the toolbar to show on top, just go to Options and click on “Top toolbar”.

In reply to: [Admin Columns] Great plugin, WAY overpricedI know the value of software development, I’m a developer myself – just not into WordPress development full time (I solved my need with code BTW). It’s not either about getting everything for free – as I said, we (at work) spend whenever is needed. Personally I like to pay for the products I use provided the price is fair: for example, I pay gladly for GeneratePress Premium (the theme, three years so far) as it offers a TON of features for a great price – and for unlimited sites.
But I can totally understand developers segmenting their products into free and paid features, I just happen to feel that paying $99 for the pro version of Admin Columns that is overly expensive. And I think I was cautious stating that the product *is* very good, but the price is not right for me. It would be better if the lower plan includes Pods compatibility, leaving the other two for several sites and unlimited sites.
And one more thing: the US is not all the world; where I live and for some of the clients I work, adding 99 bucks to a project *can* make a difference.
I will increase my review to three stars, perhaps two was a bit harsh.

@gegan249 Their model is clearly stated, nothing shady here. Oh, and they offer very affordable one-time payments…
Hi:
Thanks for answering:
1. Ouch. Perhaps some hook that I could use? I don’t mind coding…if you can point me to a particular file and give some hints I’ll find my way.
2. Didn’t notice that. Thanks.
3. Right now, when you add a new listing there are three groups: General Information, Contact Information, and Images and Video. I would like to create additional groups and assign fields to them. Right now (unless I’m doing something wrong) custom fields show up in the General Information group, so it’s kind of confusing when there are several custom fields.
4. Thank you.
