Thanks for your prompt and helpful advice. I actually stopped woocommerce and the problem got resolved (debug messages disappeared). So I shall use their support for this issue.
The plugin you suggested looks great so I shall add it to my essential debugging protocols.

Same here, since updating last night, for example, the site doesn’t load scripts.js and is askew. On deactivating wp-optimize all goes back to normal.

I am using the latest version of both plugins.

Yup, I’ve now updated to 4.13.1 and after clearing the cache all has returned to normal. I don’t know if it was just a PHP problem or something conflicting (there has been a rush of plugin updates recently).
Anyway, thanks again for your dedication, I’ll be needing the plugin for new sites I’m developing.

I’ve installed the latest update (4.13) but, unfortunately the problem persists. The feed items are listed but still showing ‘No feed items found.’ and the ‘state’ column on the feed sources page is green.
the debug message doesn’t appear anymore.
