OK< from support I just got word that if my server is down at all, the API for the add-on can’t connect and so it deactivates.

This is very likely what is happening.

I’m looking at two options now:

1. Moved to Cloudflare so if server is down it isn’t really down, though I’m unsure if that will be enough to prevent the API from deactivaitng the plugin.

2. Asking time.ly to NOT deactivate the plugin if it doesn’t get a server response. Or perhaps removing that code myself. The actual calendar never deactivates, only the add-on.

Generally good but very occasionally down. I do NOT have to log into time.ly again though, I just have to reactivate the plugin via the plugin page in WP-admin.

But what you are saying has me thinking….there is code in the time.ly plugin that deactivates when certain errors occur:

“deactivate_plugin” is present 4x in \plugins\all-in-one-event-calendar\lib\exception\handler.php

I’m not a super-amazing php coder (CF is my thing) so I’m not positive these instances are responsible.

Same issue, but with FrontEnd Submissions add-on. Random deactivation.

I have been having the exact same issue with the time.ly Frontend Submissions add-on. It randomly de-activates itself, breaking the function (which we depend on) and leaving the “Add Event” page with an ugly shortcode visible to the public.

I’ve tried de-activating every plugin, removed Wordfence which I was assured would be the problem, and it still happens.

It is SO frustrating. I’ve got numerous web sites and numerous plugins and I have not ever had a plugin de-activate itself.

PS: I do pay an annual fee to use this add-on plugin. And have been back and forth via official support for months with no solution. I’m feeling a little gratified to find that it’s not only me having this problem.

Hmm. Seems like hitting a little nail with a sledgehammer.

This is one user, who takes care of the calendar import and doesn’t need access to any admin functions. I have to give her admin level permission right now and I don’t like it.

To clarify, I mean the admin functions of WP Aggregator, The events go into our calendar and display just fine. I just want an editor-level person to work with the import but I don’t want to give that user admin access.

Mine showed up with the word MENU – slightly off center, no “hamburger”, and nothing happened on click.

In another area of this forum I noticed a thread about a bug with CF7 showing TWO hamburger menus that they fixed – perhaps that fix broke the one in certain situations.

I was having this problem and realized my changes weren’t immediately being reflected on the page due to caching. So, I solved my own problem here, thanks.

Thanks saurabh.dhariwal for a quick solution. I changed the % a little, it was very easy (60 to 75, etc).

Had the same issue on several sites, very glad I found this thread. Thinking I will disable Jetpack permanently. This affected several web sites I run, pretty big issue for me.

(I do have 2.11.4)

Just had the same conflict with the AweBooking plugin. I disabled Shortcode Embeds and that fixed it for me. Glad I was able to find this thread so quickly.
