In reply to: Remove spam users from the CodexI like to think that you searched “viagra” for the purpose of checking for spam and not for other reasons.

In reply to: 3.0 multisite as subdomains without wildcard DNS?I third (?) this. andrea_r, please I, xiabolai and Ambergris75 are begging (or at the very least, pleading) you to make a somewhat step-by-step-like guide for us to follow.
I, for one, have no knowledge at all on DNS, redirects, “DNS pointers” (got this from an IRC chat at #wordpress). Any detailed information would be really helpful.

In reply to: Add Site -> Wrong URLI posted in WordPress trac but none of us could figure out what had happened to make it like that.
Also, error in my first post. It didn’t become “https://my.domain.netdomain/”. It actually became “https://my.domain.netDatabaseName/” which is a bit messed up.
I deleted everything – database, files and all. Reinstalled fresh (ugh) and problem no more.
Good luck =/

In reply to: Undo network featureI see. Much thanks for that ??
I’d been worried that some core files might have been modified and needed fixing or something.

In reply to: Add Site -> Wrong URLPlease help.
I clicked on “edit” for the subdomain and it showed the path to be “domain/”.
I then searched this in the phpMyAdmin for all tables and 0 results were found.
I also looked at the following files but can’t find it.
- wp-config.php
- wp-admin/ms-edit.php
- wp-admin/ms-options.php
- wp-admin/ms-sites.php
- wp-admin/network.php
- wp-admin/my-sites.php
- wp-admin/includes/ms.php
- wp-admin/includes/ms-deprecated.php
- wp-includes/ms-default-constants.php
- wp-includes/ms-default-filters.php
- wp-includes/ms-deprecated.php
- wp-includes/ms-files.php
- wp-includes/ms-functions.php
- wp-includes/ms-settings.php

In reply to: Root Directory /blog/ for WordPress 3.0 main MultisiteI had this problem earlier.
I went to Super Admin > Sites > Edit.
Scroll down to “Permalink Structure” and remove the “/blog” part. That should work.

In reply to: RSS for my PagesI don’t think that WP includes built-in RSS for pages. The comments section might have a RSS feed but I haven’t tried that before.

In reply to: Multi-site with pre-existing installsAh, I see. Well, I could wish that the NextGEN owner could find something to address this (though this is only partially his problem(?)).
Otherwise, manual reupload it is.
What do you mean by SQL search/replace? Do you mean by going into the MySQL table of the NextGEN plugin and search/replacing the URLs of the images?
Maybe that could be avoided if I reupload all the images in the exact same paths they were in previously… hmm. But then the plugin might not recognize the uploaded files (if they were put in through FTP). Unless it has “add directory to media library” feature (which I’m not so sure it does).
Erm. I’m rambling now.
Anyway, thanks for all the help Ipstenu!

In reply to: Multi-site with pre-existing installsI just want to clarify everything ??
Then, if I have NextGEN Gallery installed, I would have to reupload all my images?
Sorry if I’m being really annoying here x_x I don’t want to miss out on anything that might result in major breakage.

In reply to: Multi-site with pre-existing installsSeems like such a hassle. If only you could just add a site through a verification process or something. Well, the benefits probably outweigh the process.
Question.
What if I back-up the theme files and wp-config.php, and export the posts/pages and keep the MySQL database.
Then I delete everything, reinstall using the network feature, copy over the theme files, wp-config.php and then import the posts/pages.
Would this work?
