In reply to: Export file is incompleteOne of the blogs in our network is huge (well two actually). Both “standalone” blogs. Using the Advanced Export and turning all the plugins off first is the only way to get an export done. If not it just goes to the white screen of death.
This method is working but if someone has a better idea… I’ve tried turning the plugins on one by one, but no particular (or set) seem to be the culprit(s).
Anyway, the above should work.

In reply to: Help: can’t export my siteThe same thing is suddenly happening to several of the blogs on my server. For no apparent reason, working just fine yesterday, EXPORT under tools is also returning the white screen of death.
It’s as if all of a sudden 2.8.4 is crashing in on itself. I’ve seen people posting about also having problems viewing their posts or getting stuck in either the HTML or the regular view for composing.
Again, out of the blue I have a blog that was working just fine and now will only show the HTML view in BOTH views – no what you see view at all, just HTML code.
Is there any chance that the 2.9 I heard was being worked on is messing with the current 2.8.4 – crossing bridges or something? For a version (2.8.4) that was stable for months all these random and seemingly unrelated events not just of mine but across the board, with many going unanswered, seems too big a coincidence. It seems the platform is now unstable….????
I’m digging but I can’t be the only one finding “NOT RESOLVED” in question after question….

In reply to: Locked Out Get White Screen of Dead at wp-admin/Thanks Mercime! I did install simple tags but I did not activate it, however, I’m not discounting that that might work. What the heck, can’t get in anyway ??
Off to try!

In reply to: Error when posting commentsHi jm… just tried to comment and yep you are right, that’s an odd one. I view sourced your page and it looks okay. This may not be your problem at all but try changing your Permalinks (under Settings) to say Month/Year and see if it happens. I notice you’re using the default ones anyway and there’s nothing seo friendly about using those.
Log out. Try to post a comment yourself.
It’s a shot in the dark, but it is weird how choosing the right permalinks seems to clear up a lot of problems….
Hope this helps ??

In reply to: get to site from blogSorry just wanted to add that I’d get the All In One Seo plugin for your blog. It’s a great SEO manager and appears at the bottom of your writing page. Just fill in the fields with the title, description, and tags. Also, if you have it, be sure to put the tags into the field on the right hand column and of course mark your categories. Then you’re covering all your bases ??

In reply to: get to site from blogI’m going to take a stab at this since I’m looking for something similar that I don’t think exists. However, in your case, across the top are the pages of your blog. You most certainly could make a PAGE and put the link to your primary website on that page – saying something like “visit my apron store here” or whatever.
You can also add you primary site to your blogroll or create a banner for the site and put it in a text box on the sidebar.
At the moment it would be great to just have them close the blog and be redirected to the site. THAT’S what I’d like to see happen…. but I have yet to find any solution to the problem LOL!
If there are other thoughts and/or strategies out there, I’ll be watching your discussion ??

In reply to: Have code for ad image, but need URL – help! The target url should be:
“https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=KrBG865nM70&offerid=177176.10000004&type=4&subid=0”Your image is:
“IMG alt=”Naturepedic 125×125 static jpg” border=”0″ src=”https://www.naturepedic.com/affiliates/images/naturepedic-125×125.jpg”The other portion is a small 1×1 tracking pixel for linkshare. This may or may not be important to credit you with any sales. You might want to check with Linkshare about this….
Another way would be to create a small table and insert it into a text box. This way you could use the full code and if that pixel is important finish up the tracking that Linkshare needs and/or wants.
I hope this helps ??

In reply to: Images won’t uploadThe answer is totally simple – at least it was for me. Log into your wp-admin area and on the DASHBOARD go to SETTINGS.
Choose MISCELLANEOUS
The first field is suppose to default to wp-content/uploads yet several of our blogs only had the first part “wp-content” (without quotes).
By adding the /uploads to that first field, and even leaving Month/Year, etc., alone, the uploading of images now works like a charm.
It just appears that while the “default” should have/could have been written into the 2.8.4 code itself, it was overlooked.
Hope this fixes your problem. Again, it fixed mine and several other blogs I manage.

In reply to: Server error when trying to edit posts and pages@otto my sincere apologies. I thought the title of the post encompassed all issues about posting and editing. I would never have dreamed of ticking you off by posting in the wrong spot. Just thought I was on target with the same type of issue.
I do appreciate you taking the time to give me some sense of direction with our similar posting and editing problem.

In reply to: Server error when trying to edit posts and pagesHi! I sure hope I’m in the right neck of the woods because with the WP 2.6 upgrade, after making the post and trying to get back to MANAGE POSTS, while the post is listed on the list and showing up out on the blog, this is what I see trying to re-edit individual posts:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_text_diff() in /home/tomstech/public_html/wp-admin/edit-form-advanced.php on line 29
We’re having this trouble on our blog and a clients blog. We can revert him back to 2.5 easily enough, but our system will not let us revert (and we’re got over 100 posts and hundreds of comments I would not want to lose).
I’m an edit freak and really, really need to be able to revisit each post for further editing.
Help? Will your solution above solve our problem?
I’ll be watching with fingers crossed you have the solution!
Thanks ahead of time!
