Because users use the menue but they do not realise that anything has changed – they still see the same header-image full screen and do not know that they have to scroll down to see the requested article. well, I feel I understood how you create a child theme and what it is able to do, the result is, however, a design with new horrors different Browsers: the main menu is translated into a list… and some design beauties get lost – see

I still have not quite understood which php file you manipulate (or if you do not manipulate individual files with an html-editor: how you use the blog’s menue to make such changes).

just realise that the above screenshots were done with ie-10, not ie-7. Ie-10 causes these peculiar problems.
