Hi Greatest Developer in the World Bar None,

one of my guys has deveoped teh Dashboard Site Notes plug-in furher, fixing your bug, adding a bunch of features (much more fine grained control where a site note should show up or not and a few other things).

We do not have the bandwidth to share and maintain the revised version. If you are interested, I can smply send our derivative version to you, and then you can decide whether you want to merge it with whatever you have been up to in the meantime or not, and continue to share it and maybe maintain it.

My email address is olaf AT druemmer DOT com, so let me know if you want to pursue this. In terms of IP – you can do with the code whatever you want, it is even not required to mention me or my guy. Also, of course, there is no guarantee anything works as expected (though it does work for us).

The same just seems to be happening to me. I seem to have a conflict with the MiniMeta Widget plugin. After disabling the MiniMeta Widget plugin, user names are still gone. Trying to figure otu what the impact is, and hwo to get them back…

I have found that it works well with the “User Avatar” plug-in ( https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/user-avatar/ ).

I myself though found that ay custom fields – or even some of the extra communication fields – do not seem to show up.

As nobody ever reported resolving their issue – I just had the same problem (“Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/content/39/5470539/html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 445”) and in my case the problem with something that does create a kind of custom categories (QA plug-in) and for some reason I had temporarily turned it off. [IMPORTANT: this is very obviously not a problem of or with the QA plug-in…]

While turning off a plugin should usually not be a big deal, it did not interact with the menu system of my theme (Suffusion) anymore, and I suppose the whole thing then just broke.

Besides the “Catachable error…” message when going to “Menu” under “Appearance”, simply displaying the pages of my WordPress install also gave me an error but still displayed the page content:

“Warning: preg_split() expects parameter 2 to be string, object given in […] /wp-includes/formatting.php on line 34”

So as some poster alreayd guessed – it had something to do with custom category stuff (sorry – my language is not very precise, I am neither a PHP programmer nor a WordPress tech geek). HTH anyay.
