    Hi, I checked google Page speed the day before and it has decreased the times. I guess I just had everything in my local cache before.

    Hi, I know. I turned it on for the purpose of PHP7 compatability.
    It’s just turned on for our internal IP-adress though, I think warnings should be fixed before they become errors.

    I’ve also disabled the plugin for now, had people report they could not update posts with this error in the multisite network.

    It worked it self out, it must have been a bug in the codebase for my multisite. I tried many things but none made it work.

    Here are what you should look at:
    * Error logs (if any errors, fix them first)
    * HTACCESS-file (try to make a new one, copy your old one as backcup)
    * Try to disable plugins
    * Try the default themes
    * Check if you can access /wp-admin of your sites

    I tried everything and it didnt work.. Then suddenly it works again ??
    So I think there was an error in WP.. I even tried uploading fresh updated files in case some were corrupted during install, I looked in the database etc. but it all seemed fine.

    The process has however made me aware of the coming PHP7 issues with old plugins and themes (it’s important to fix all your warnings, so you are ready for PHP7). Many old plugins need updating, old themes might be using old ways of configuring header images, etc.

    I can enter the admin area though, but I cant preview themes.
    In the admin area I can create posts, etc. So I wonder if some tables might be missing, maybe some update is missing some files.

    I’m wondering if I should download the update and manually upload new files via ftp or maybe try a reinstall. As the other sites are working, I think there must be an error either in the db or in some of the php files?

    Btw. It seems my error logging with the .users.ini works after all, but it shows up late to the party. Here is some logging from yesterday:

    Regrettably I have already deleted the site, but I have made a new one now and same issues with error code 500 for front end. I’ll check if the error log shows up after a while. Not sure how often it gets written to the drive.

    You start with a meeting, then you and the client make a case and a brief. In this document you should define your user base, the success factors, time limit, technology used, etc.

    After this, it’s more clear which functions you need, then you have to make it or find something already done.

    It’s like asking: How do we build an hotel?
    The hotel can have a lift/elevator, it can have stairs, balconies, it can have ADSL or fibre internet connections, blow up mattress or proper mattress, it can have televisions, etc.

    The same goes for a website, there is infinite ways of doing it, but you have to have a clear strategy before you start building the blocks of your website. If you do not have resources or skills to properly manage the pre-project, I would recommend that you hire a web developer for at least this part. (people with a bachelor degree or masters should be able to help you with this).

    There are a lot of considerations to take and remember the old sloagan: “shit in, shit out”. (if you have no clear goal, suddenly your website is spaghetticoded.)

    I had a problem that I needed to copy the files from:
    /www/wp_mu/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/wp-content

    To:
    /www/wp_mu/wp-content

    Then it worked!

    Have you tried setting it in your admin area under reading? There is a limit number of posts for posts pages setting there.

    What if you try this code:
    <marquee behavior="scroll" scrollamount="3" direction="left">This site is for deliveries only. If you would like to collect then please phone 01278 453033.</marquee>

    If it works, try to add not all of your styling at one time.

    If it doesent work, consider that it might be how the non standard marquee works (or doesent work) in your browser.

    You could consider using JQuery with this JQ plugin:
    https://jonmifsud.com/open-source/jquery/jquery-webticker/

    Hi, you can edit the file via the control panel -> Appearance -> Edit.
    Then choose the page top / header.php on the right side.

    Remember to make a local backup of the contents before you edit ?? Save it in notepad on your local pc before editing.

    Hi, if you hide content, it will not get any value in search engines.
    If you try to hide it with white colors, you may get penalized.

    You can make it invisible if you open the style.css and locate:
    .headerblock {
    }

    Inside this, you will add two lines:

    display: none;
    visibility: hidden;

    After that is done, you can find the red colors..

    Look for:
    #header-widget-area {

    It should contain:
    background-color: #57100A; (line 55)

    if you delete that line, the image will appear in full width.
    But then the readability of your text suffers.

    If you wish to replace all occurrences of the red color with something else, simply replace: #57100A with a new color of your choosing.

    You can also do a search for this color if you wish to delete or modify manually. It is also located inside:
    #access (your horizontal menu).

    Ps. I use the dom inspector in google chrome to identify the matched styles. (right click->inspect item). You may have to “unpack” the items.

    Sorry, my bad!

    There was nothing wrong here, it was my JQuery file with XMLHTTPREQUEST that tried to cross domains (it tried accessing the old domain instead of the new, but this was not related to the redirect).
