just one thing -probably the .htaccess and permalinks, in the root i have:
https://www.site.com/index.php and the .ht access file
then in a sub directory i have all the other wordpress stuff. The problem is when i go to https://www.site.com/index.php then click on another link its searching for a page which is officially in the sub directory so whats happening after i got to the index in the root and click for another page is:
https://www.site.com/apage (doesnt find it)
where in fact the page is actually here: https://www.site.com/wordpress/apagedoes that make sense..hope so!

the one you mentioned is the same sort of thing i think. either one seems the best way to create a page dedicated to downloads

im have a couple of issues in the php script though, as you will see there is a widget script in the code, but i want to style the link it produces, im not sure what im looking for in the PHP though, im good with CSS though so want to assign a class.
