Thanks for that. Sounds good and im sure i can make use of it, but im also after something that will just show a list of authors with links to a page for each , which in turn has something like the example you gave (a list of all posts by that author)

i want something like

Categories:
xxx
yyy

Authors:
John Bloggs
Jane Bloggs

etc

Im using a custom theme i created. I created a folder, /wp-content/themes/mytheme and created new versions of various php and css files to suit my need.

I dont remember changing any core files, or files outside of that folder, though i have installed some plug-ins.

I host the machine myself, and no backups are done on it, though they wouldnt help as I still dont know what file to look at for the code segment i need, and i can always get it from the install files which i have handy.

i thought of that, but i dont get any success. the post appears in the Manage Posts section buyt never appears on the blog itself. Also the post contains the email headers themselves.

When i run the wp-mail.php file, i also get ;

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: xml_parser_create() in /var/www/html/wp-includes/class-IXR.php on line 146

at the end of the display.
