In reply to: How about some documentation?Well, shucks, that is the gosh-darned point, dagnabbit. I golly-gee wish the heck there actually was some documentation to read for goodness sake.

In reply to: Cropping picturesOH, now I figured it out– the little Save button just where I didn’t expect it. Sorry!

In reply to: Why is WordPress So Effing SlowThanks. My concern is the speed of updating pages while I’m still creating them as my Google speed isn’t too bad, though not as good as yours. Do you know if you can use MAMP or WAMP to develop a site on your computer and upload it later?

In reply to: [Virtue] gray box below homepage sliderThanks for that– I finally figured out my problem– I hadn’t told the theme which page was my front page. Once I did so it worked perfectly!

In reply to: [Virtue] gray box below homepage sliderHow did you get the home page slider to even work? I’ve done everything I can think of but there is no information. And of course you can’t post to the author’s forum unless you buy the theme. And the link to the documentation is just that, a link, no documentation.

In reply to: Crop picture but doesn't updateThanks but it doesn’t work. Not crop or rotate. Looks like it works until I go back to the library again, then find it hasn’t worked. I can visit the site in another browser to make sure I”m not looking at an old cached file but no joy then either.

In reply to: English spelling overriding coding of styles in appearance/editorIn this case it’s in Appearance -> Editor -> Style.css
Yes, I read that. It didn’t seem to pertain to my situation. My understanding is that the program simply unpacks the Zip file, and puts it at the root level of the folder you’re using, is that right? I did that and it seemed to work but the links weren’t right– kept going back to the other site.

In reply to: Add dates to support postsI think putting the date in the title of each post would be helpful when you are searching to see if someone has a similar problem to yours. One of the first things I noticed about WordPress forums is how search results are so disorganized. Anything that makes searches more accurate is good. A disorganized collection of results tends to discourage searching in the first place.

In reply to: Add dates to support postsNever said they weren’t. But who wants to open every one of 50 posts to see if they’re relevant?

In reply to: Remove random header imagesThat worked! Thanks!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Remove random header imagesDon’t know. Was given the option to choose random images in the Custom Header link (Appearance -> Header). Uploaded the images and chose the Random Image variation instead of single image. One of the images doesn’t fit, so tried to remove it. No chance. The only way out of this that I can think of is to kill the child theme and start over. Even when you remove the images themselves, the theme doesn’t forget about them. Shows blanks where there should be images.

In reply to: Details info box on plugins never worksLooks like the culprit is the theme Magazine Basic. Site works fine otherwise so I guess I’ll just leave it. Nice to know the popups work in other themes though. Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Details info box on plugins never worksWeird. Turned off all the plugins on one site, and no luck.
But another site with tons of plugins active, works fine. A third site doesn’t work.
Instead of popups, it would be nice to just have a link.

In reply to: Details info box on plugins never worksYou know when you go to find a plugin?
And you find a plug in that you want?
So you click the plug-in details window?
And up pop a black box?
And the black box doesn’t have anything in it?
That’s what happens. Like it says in my post.
