In reply to: I'd rather use DreamweaverThanks to both of you for quick, constructive responses. I’m afraid I was letting off a bit of steam but my frustration has a legitimate basis. How is my client going to add tabular data to the site when it’s so difficult? I thought WordPress was supposed to be easy. As for using Dreamweaver, simply creating a page in Dreamweaver and then copying and pasting your code into WordPress is the only workaround I can think of. Sort of like buying a car and hitching it to a tractor.

In reply to: Slow loading siteJust out of curiosity, if you’re developing a site and making various editing changes, do you normally have delays of 10-15 seconds while the page loads? I understand a caching program would speed things up but when you’re under development you don’t want a cache right?
Other websites I’m developing aren’t anywhere near that slow, but I’m not using WordPress on them.
I should say that all my sites are developed directly on the server, not with MAMP or something on my own computer.
Slow loading times are driving me nuts. Every change I made takes 10-15 seconds to view– I’m wasting hours ever day.

In reply to: WordPress vs basic web skillsMy point is that I’m wondering whether or not other people feel that way. Do you, for example, ever find WP to be cumbersome and slow. Have you ever tried to learn PHP? Do you find that sites created with your own code are faster than WP’s sites and, since you actually created them, easier to administer?

In reply to: Attachments?I read that. I know how to attach images and files but I have no idea what they actually are. When I attach a picture to a post or page, it doesn’t show up. What is supposed to happen?

In reply to: [ColorShop - enhanced eCommerce solution] How does Colorshop work?I’m not sure Colorshop is responsible but I had an attack on my website that disabled it and dumped files from another website. Since disabling Colorshop, I’ve had no problems. Since there is no documentation for Colorshop and the forum is limited to people who have already bought something from this company, I wouldn’t recommend using it.

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] [Plugin: WP Super Cache] Exclude specific pages?Hi Hugh
I found the Rejected URI box near the bottom of the Advanced settings page
Click the settings menu in your Dashboard and find the Settings tab for SuperCache. Look for ‘Accepted Filenames & Rejected URIs’
It let me remove caching for my home page. Don’t know if it will allow you to add in a specific URL but you will at least be able to remove the type of page.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Woocommerce Variations don't work – errorIn my case the answer was to add a different price for each variation. I had been trying for days to get variations on my products and finally read the last line of the instructions, which say a price is required for each variation. Otherwise, they won’t show.
Hope that helps. I think the instructions could be a lot clearer.
