I am looking for something similar but haven’t found one either. I would like to create usergroups and only give certain groups access to certain blog posts but I’d also like to hide the post title and category count to those who don’t have viewer access. If you found anything, let me know.

What is so “foreign language” in creating a simple text file, putting in the code given to you and uploading it to the server?

There is a lot of technical jargon I don’t understand.

Or reading the instructions… Using_Permalinks.

I have read that and still don’t quite understand.

I did find the post somewhere that said .htaccess is a plain text file I create which can be blank and then upload it to my directory. However, up until I spent 2 days on and off going through posts to find that info, I didn’t know that. I do think it should be clearer in the documentation.

Then also, once a permalink structure is set; what do I add to said .htaccess file? I am unaware of the meaning of the terms described in documentation and posts and nothing was understandable to me. What goes in that file? I will re-read everything again but I was looking for someone who could explain ‘how to make it work’ to me in “n00b” terms.

Lastly, pardon if I am reading your reply the wrong way but it your reply seems faintly vindictive presumptuous that I hadn’t thouroughly researched the topic before asking. I have.

If my WordPress install resides in a subdirecory, do I put the robots.txt and the .htaccess file I created in the subdirectory or the main directory? The main directory is not relevant to the subdirectory. I host several sites/blogs/etc. on one server account but desire them to be treated differently by robots, as well as, have a different permalink structures.

In the admin panel, under USERS, select a username and you will be brought to a page where you can edit a users profile. In that page should be a checkbox to disable the WYSIWYG editor.

I asked because I have a similar issue but it’s with text on the default wordpress theme in 2.3. I posted about it here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/138433?replies=2 The issue seems to be happenning in the editor though.

So do you suggest putting the overflow attribute to hidden in the css for the div surrounding the post?

Has the plugin been updated now so it’s safe for use with WordPress 2.3?

Yes. I’m speaking as far as the documentation goes, there is expression on the ability (for instance) to modify multiple blogroll links at once. In Blogroll, it seems the only mass modification that can be done is deleting links.

I have the admin email set and it doesn’t change the [email protected] thing in version 3.1.2. I agree it’s an issue but how/where exactly is it fixed? I went to look in every part of my admin panel for an option to fix it, no options.

The current version installed for me but there was a problem with the grouping feature. I have not tried to send test mails yet.

Could you post how you fixed it?

I have an issue with the groups feature in WP 2.1.3. I can create a custom group, however when adding any 1 user to a custom group, it adds all users to said group automatically. This sort of makes the group feature useless as everyone is already part of the default group.
