  • It also give this statement: Backup Successful!
Your backup file: cherylkemp_wp_20050802_797.sql should begin downloading shortly.

then this after I click the link cherylkemp…etc: Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /blog/wp-content/backup/cherylkemp_wp_20050802_797.sql on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Well I thought I had a revelation…but then more problems. Part of the issue is that there was no backup folder in the wp-content directory. I created a new folder named “backup” then right clicked on it and enabled read/write and execute for owner only. That did get rid of the “not writable” error. Then when I tried to back it up I got a TON of errors:

    A bunch of these:
Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in:
    a database error and
    a few of these

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/content/c/h/e/cherylkemp/html/blog/wp-content/plugins/wp-db-backup.php on line 155

It is such a long list I wasn’t sure whether I should post it here or not. I usually just use the “my network places” in windows for ftp and I also have Frontpage 2003, although I haven’t really been suing it much since I got WordPress going…easier just to do the simple ftp.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the response, Skippy. Can you tell me how to grant write permission? I thought of that before I wrote my original post, but I don’t know how to do it.

Just want to check on this before I do anything stupid…i get the message: WARNING: Your backup directory is NOT writable!
    /home/content/c/h/e/cherylkemp/html/blog/wp-content/backup/

If I email or download the database this shouldn’t be a problem???

oh, and I do have a page.php in the template section (another fix that was mentioned)

After looking at the codex, I’m not sure I understand how I would get the page to list only one category at a time. Would I need a seperate template page for each?
For example, a page called book links…only display the links in the category “book links” Then another page called magazine links, only display that category. Would I need a “book” template and a “magazine” template that would over ride the regular “page” template in those instances?

    Thanks for the links, miklb!

    Thanks for the help everyone!

Miklb…true, but it seemed to list all the links…not just specific ones.

Techwench…thanks! I just installed PHP Exec and it works perfectly.

In the theme directory I am currently using, I have a template_archives and template_list but no default. When I am in the WP dashboard on page…it has me choose archive, links or default for “Page Template”. How would I be able to edit the default template when it is not showing up? I am using the default template for other pages adn is has header, sidebar, etc. but I just put the direct html code in the page content area for those (not trying to call links)

Can anyone help with this error?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_currentuserinfo() ………../html/blog/wp-content/plugins/asy_exhibit/exhibit10.php on line 205

If I delete line 205, exhibit does show up in the plugins section and allows me to activate, but there are no options on the post page to use it or on any tabs.

did anyone ever figure this one out…I have people getting the same error.

Tom…thanks so much for the specific instructions. I’ll give it a shot on my own now and see what happens. I am usually able to get it after a few tries. If not, I may call on your expertise again ??
