Hi There,
The normal import didn’t work for me so I tried the suggestion above.
No luck.

Hangs at 4%.
Site is not imported (errors all over when checking the front end, and no access to Admin pages)

My .wpress file is 172MB with over 4000 files.

Both source and destination sites are running WP4.2.2

Stuck on Restoring Database.
And Stop Import button is not available.
………
Then a dialogue box saying:
Unable To Retrieve The Status Of The Import. Is Your Server Running?

My import file is 173MB, is that maybe the problem?

The original problem was that I didn’t run the find/replace (old URL to new URL).

Now it’s half way there…. just waiting for the db to restore on the new platform…. Taking ages though. Other threads deal with this, so my original query is resolved.
