@ahmedkaludi I found the cause of the problem.

There is conflict between Yoast SEO plugin and your AMP plugin.

Even I already set Yoast plugin in AMP settings, this error remains.

I tested same page by disabling Yoast SEO plugin and then canonical URL visibled correctly!

After re-enabling Yoast SEO plugin, canonical URL revert back to Self Canonical:

Please release a fix for this conflict with Yoast plugin

I got confirmed, this is a database issue.
Wordpress sites older than 7-8 years could be affected.

Here what I did to get confirm the place of issue:

1. I duplicated wordpress site into a subfolder (database also duplicated to seperate from main site)
2. New Test location: https://www.onlanka.com/wptest/
3. Deactivated all the plugins.
4. Deleted all the plugins.
5. Activated wordpress default theme “twentynineteen”
6. Then posted a new test post.
7. Then checked https://www.onlanka.com/wptest/feed
8. Still <lastBuildDate> not updating with latest posts.

Also When I visit feed link https://www.onlanka.com/wptest/feed , it gives the file as "feed" but I checked another fresh installation of wordpress and it gives "xcGddgR" random letters as feed file name.

Please give me a solution for this.

I did all the steps as per your instructions, but still having same result.

Also tried with incognito browser window to avoid any cached content but result is same.

Please create this permalink on your wordpress installation and test it.

My permalink:

/news/%postname%.html

Still menu links has this issue,

Go this page and open menu, then mouse over links: https://www.onlanka.com/news/amp/president-leaves-for-singapore.html

Those menu links has non wordpress links but in same domain name, I already added those into exclude list but still it converting in wrong way.

Eg:

Correct URL: https://www.onlanka.com/friends/
But it converted that URL into https://www.onlanka.com/news/amp/friends/

This happens even after URL added into the exclude list as:

https://onlanka.com/friends/*

/news/ is a part of the permalink

I found the cause of the problem!!

But it needs a Fix!

My site using cutom permalink structure:

https://www.onlanka.com/news/%postname%.html

Actually wordpress installed on https://www.onlanka.com/

news/%postname%.html is custom structure, /news/ is not an actual folder.

I tested by removing this custom structure and plugin works well!

Please check this issue, I already emailed you FTP.

Now Google AMP test unable to check my AMP pages, I tried several times and it gives following,

Yes I use only reputed plugins.

Yes there is category named “Foreign”
