Yes, I removed the tables but when I went to the remote database access hosts there is nothing there.

I downloaded 3.2.1…please tell me how to get rid of the old one…I thought I put it in the recycle bin. I deleted the database and wp files in cpanel. I am not sure how to totally get rid of the old wp. Thanks.

I just installed the latest wordpress and I stall have deprecated messages. I put the code:

on wp-config and that took away a few errors but I still have 7 msgs and a warning. I still cannot see the admin page or the webpage.

ce_bradm do you have any more ideas on what to do? I am totally at a loss here. Thanks.

The install was yesterday. I will take your suggestion and start with a fresh install. Thanks again for your help. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for your quick response. Yes, the only reason I installed it was that I used it for my personal blog. I am loading this one for a friend on my pc. Should I go into the mysql and delete the database and then download the latest version as though this is a new load? Or do I just need to clear the wp files?

I found the solution from a previous post. I needed to check the option Frontpage. This solution was suggested by Figaro. Thanks, Figaro.

I had that issue too but resolved. I use FileZilla. Anyway, after downloading, extracting; and connecting; I ended up in the c panel; double click the following on the lower right side: public.html;wp-content;plugins
Then, on left side click my desktop where the file is and then double click sociable file and drag it over to right side where the plugins are…
I am an amateur but this is what worked for me…hope this helps

Found the answer under Comments tab…under General Settings tab needed to change Memebership to ‘anyone can register’
