I’m having the same problem – one of the newer themes that uses Navigation blocks rather than the deprecated Menu feature.
I managed to add a bunch of navigation menus for different languages a few months ago, but now that I’m trying to add another one I’m totally stumped. I added a Navigation block, but it doesn’t get hidden, so I have English navigation with Portuguese underneath. If I use the suggested ‘Site Editor Classic Features’ plugin, the Menus bit only lists English-language names of pages, so I can’t see how that helps.

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoHey, my dashboard now has a constant, extremely vague error at the top of the page:
Error occurred while updating document WordPress. Message: id value is not valid
I have absolutely no idea what to do with this, and the only similar bug reports I can find are like “Error occurred while updating document Widget”.
I’m guessing it’s something to do with this kludge, but I could be wrong! Have you seen anything similar, by any chance?

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoAhhh, this makes sense now! I simply hadn’t included the language switcher shortcode itself on the ‘single post’ template’.
The test page I posted is a mess because I finished that phase of testing and didn’t need it any more. ??
Thanks again for your help!

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoThanks, but I’m confused – why would the test page, which has its own template, affect the way posts are displayed?

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoIf there were different headers, I don’t think it would be listing multiple menus at all! It’s somehow rendering the same template part differently?

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoUh oh… my site is heavily based on pages rather than posts, so I only just realised that on posts, all the menus are visible!

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoThanks Michel!
1) Silly mistake – my test page is only officially “in English”! If I add the switcher to other pages, it goes to the right place.
2) If I make the menus part of the page template (which makes sense anyway, of course) it correctly hides all but the relevant one, I think!
So… I think this is just about working now!

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoHmm… I’ve made a test page with all the language menus, but it’s only hiding the Spanish one. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
Thank you!

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoOkay, multilingual menus seem to work as well (once I got the hang of converting them to groups).
But the switcher always takes you to the front page rather than the page you were looking at? That’s not what I was hoping for – I wonder if it would be feasible to change this?

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang free version with theme Twenty Twenty TwoThanks @michelb-1, this seems to work for me! Just adding multilingual menus now…

In reply to: [Polylang] Polylang Works With Twenty Twenty-Two?Hi @chouby I tried downgrading to Polylang 3.2 in the hopes of getting a working language switcher in Twenty Twenty-Two, establishing that the language switcher doesn’t appear in 3.2, 3.2.4 or 3.2.5.
This seems like a major incompatibility. I’m inferring that the plugin likely relies on a theme feature (legacy widget block support maybe??) that is absent from this theme?

In reply to: [Polylang] Language switcher for Twenty twenty-twoTo add an additional bug: editing the theme to add menu support (by adding
add_theme_support( 'menus' );
to functions.php) means that it becomes possible to add a language switcher menus, only it doesn’t actually work. It’s just a link to #pll_switcher which doesn’t even produce an error message if you check the console. No sign of the other ways of adding a language switcher promised in the documentation.
The plugin ‘details’ page says ‘Compatible up to: 6.0’ but that doesn’t seem to be true, if the default theme doesn’t work?
Is there a fix for this? Or a better workaround than just manually making a language switcher to choose between different front pages?
Thanks!

In reply to: How to rearrange HTML page title? That’s great – the title must have just been cached somewhere at the time of my previous comment.
Really appreciate your help with this.
