I, too, have been locked out of my website with:
“Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.”
In searching through forums there are recommendations to amend htaccess. It is nowhere to be found.

Thank you again. I had disabled a few plugins but not think “Broken Link Checker” would be involved. It is the culprit.
All good now. As soon as my PayPal fills up, I will buy the theme.

It would only be there if you have McAfee virus checker running. The program can be removed in the normal way – with Windows use Control Panel/Uninstall Program.
Regarding your images, the normal routine is for imagesto be stored in the gallery and linked in posts. Therefore, if the gallery no longer contains an image, the post will showed a dead link.

One of the recent media issues has been a conflict with McAfee Siteadvisor. When I deleted the Siteasdvisor component my missing media returned.

Gary, is the reason because you widget contents do extend beyond the screen size? I have the same theme at https://www.vanlawnbowling.ca

James, the cache seems to have been corrected. When I reactivated WP Super Cache and deleted the cache files, as you suggested, the correct page was showing on the website. Sorry about that – I thought I had done that already.

The problem continues, even after deactivation of WP Super Cache. It was there before I enable CloudFlare.
No answer yet from my isp.

Another lead I have is that it may be at my isp server. I have a request to them regarding their cache settings. They offer CloudFlare, which caches and does other things, so I will enable that.

This issue seems to be a difficult one.
We have a new theme that our web contractor wishes to use – iFeature Pro 5 – but we have had continual trouble. Following another suggestion from a year ago, I went through the process of setting the Deactivation Safeguard to No (also tried iteration with it as Yes). Clicked the button to rest the roles (in several iterations). Made sure bbPress was deactivated at various times in the cycle. Etc. We lost the ability to get in all last night because of a 406 error. Our host said,”We have disabled the Mod_Security rule that was triggering this issue.” That let us back in.
I thought I had it stabilized this morning, but S2Member has again thrown up a “You do not have permission” notice for our contractor, who has Admin privileges.
Sorry, but how can I get rid of all traces of s2Member?
