Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Error when upgrading to WP2.8Hello everyone!
I too have the same problem and have tried all the fixes stated in this thread so far. I’m now running 2.8.4
My hosting provider is Network Solutions, my family website is https://gurling.org and my blog is at https://gurling.org/alan/.
The odd thing is, the error messages:
Warning: gzinflate() [function.gzinflate]: data error in /data/11/0/155/153/807642/user/828456/htdocs/gurling/alan/wp-includes/http.php on line 1787 Warning: gzuncompress() [function.gzuncompress]: data error in /data/11/0/155/153/807642/user/828456/htdocs/gurling/alan/wp-includes/http.php on line 1792
I’m unsure on how to proceed here. This error message appears in the admin screen.
If there’s anyone who can help, I’d appreciate it!
Kind regards,
Alan

In reply to: Lost Password, Link In Email Not Valid (key), ‘Fix’ Does Not WorkNone of the information here worked for me. I was able to resolve my issue anyways by:
https://www.village-idiot.org/archives/2007/05/22/wp-emergency-password-recovery/
Posting this in here if in case some one else comes by this problem.
It’s supposedly a 2.3.x fix, but it does work with 2.5.1 as well.

In reply to: Deleting Multiple Links via CheckboxI just found out about this thread and am looking for a quick way to delete multiple links from the link manager, except for going through the SQL.
When I started my blog, I wasn’t aware of “del.icio.us”, sooo, pretty much, all the interesting links I collected got in there. Now I have to delete hundreds of them.
The link manager will allow us to assign the links, but actually deleting them one by one, even causing script errors across IE (gasp!) and FireFox is just too tedious.
I just wish there was an easier way to do this.

In reply to: Local installation of WordPress, PHP and MySQL errors.I just want to give feedback that I downloaded XAMPP, unzipped it at home, and was able to work with it within minutes! Thanks a lot vkaryl!
I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to develop websites locally.

Hello everyone!
First of all I’d like to thank PODZ for the answer!
I actually deleted the file before going back here to see that it’s how to do the trick!
Still, confirming it by a developer can be a helpful hint that this shuold be placed in a FAQ somewhere.
Thanks!
