I’m having same kind of problems. Wouldnt mind some help here.

Not only, I’m having difficulty in accessing the backend (e.g. wp-admin doesnt work – gives blank sceen, but wp-login works),

but also, when I attempt to change/edit a page, either blankscreen or page not found, or changes do not appear.

What might cause such behavior?

I find it odd that displaying a category menu with category icons in a widget is so difficult (as far as my google searches go) in wordpress.

For any newbies (such as my self) stumbling upon this post: to move wp from my localserver to my remote server (and making it work);

I followed steps in “on your existing server” part of the article pointed out by Esmi.

Somehow not all the links to ‘localhost’ was changed by following those steps. I used searchandreplacedb to change it (do not forget to remove that file from server or any define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true) expression from your wp-config file after everything works.

Just to let you know. I did everything I could to get the site back to what it was: to no avail. But, it was not a redux problem in the end.

Combining Better WP security, WP hide Admin and Theme my login seem not such a good idea…without fully understanding type of changes those plugins make.

I simply went for a new wp install, new theme, and basic tables from database (posts, etc).
