Hello @eugenecleantalk I’ve made the changes you suggested. I don’t run caching software on the website so nothing to change / clear there.

I’ve done a test form submission, from the same IP address as the last one that was rejected, and it was successfully submitted.

I get copies of all forms submitted so I’ll keep an eye out for any spam

I read the Migrating doc especially the Requirements section and on checking saw that the website PHP’s version was 8.1.12. I downgraded the PHP to v8.0

Tried the migration again with the same result – every calendar entry produces an error. However when I double-checked the actual version of PHP was 8.0.2 (or something like that).

I downgraded PHP to 7.4…. and all the events migrated successfully ??

Spot on, disabled the */cache/* option as you described and the alerts have all stopped.

To summarise as I understand it, I’d enable a cache via Autoptimize and then told Ninja Firewall to regard anything accessing the cache as a hacking attempt. Doh!

Went to log in to get the logs and got a screen that said in effect can’t login as wp-login.php script is under a heavy brute force attack’ (which I presume is a message from Ninja Firewall?). Perhaps that does answer the question someone is hammering the website trying to get in?

OMG, it was me ??

There is a drop-down just below area where the body of the text description goes ‘The Events Calendar’. Clicked the drop-down and everything (dates, venue etc.) re-appeared.

I hadn’t closed it, honestly so never even realised that it was possible to open/close this area.

Nope, I give up.

I’ve just tried to create an actual Event. I cannot see on the screen where I can add a venue or organiser. I click on the Venue, Organser links on the left (in the section that was never there before) and the dialogue box tells me that I’m about to leave the page I was on.

I really hope I’m being stupid and there is a tick-box to put things back the way they were. Creating an Event used to be straightforward and simple. Now I have no idea what to do to create an event!

Many thanks. Not having done CSS before I was somewhat nervous of doing this and had to Google a bit to understand what you were saying but in the end worked it all out and I’ve successfully reduced the size of the text in the widget area.
