Many thanks, James.

In reply to: CSS wizard needed. (bbpress MOSTLY done.)Sorry. Ok, here goes. The grey coloured horizontal “News Opportunities Gallery…” menu is the one I’m interested in. (I know the links don’t work on the /bbpress, but I’m more interested in the sizing at the moment.)
Compared with the *same* menu on the actual homepage, the sizes of the boxes dispayed when hovering are wrong (appear to be larger) even though the actual CSS governing the menu is identical.
As all the sizes for this particular menu are specified in ems, I assume some other definition in the css file is scaling them. I hope I’m being clear enough ? Thanks, James.

In reply to: Ok, let me have it…No pixelation here either. Not too keen on “tooltips” type things, but they seem to render really quickly unlike some, so it wouldn’t annoy me too much. I like the minimalist design but there’s a bit too much empty space going on in my browser. Perhaps it’s ok for less extreme screen resolutions. Nice work.

In reply to: How to tell what version I am usingI’ve always looked at the source of your index.php front page. It has a meta:generator tag with the exact WP version (including all the little subversion decimal places.) Hope this helps ?

In reply to: Can’t login into admin mode from PCYeah it’s weird that it happens on both firefox and IE. I was going to suggest a funny security setting in IE that was stopping cookies.
It sounds like that machine is at fault; do you have any odd firewall/internet protection software ? Or maybe your hosts file is causing something odd ?

In reply to: generating .PDFHmm. I was after a more general solution, but that plugin is going to be *mighty* helpful for another little project I had some thoughts about. Much appreciated.

In reply to: Plugin: Download Manager (alpha release)I really like this plugin but I can’t get it to work ??
The tracking works fine, but clicking on the download link sends a mixed up garbage to the browser. Seems like some kind of MIME error ? Kafkaesqui I left a post on your page about this but it seems to have dissaperared or went off for moderation.

Perhaps I’m being stupid. Any help much appreciated.

In reply to: www.pembsdoe.org.ukaha ! Thanks for the tips. Yeah you’re right about the sidebar, I was working on that when I posted since we only just registered the url. Little test image looks ok, but still needs tweaking. (Huge search button shifts it in IE, can I use ie css to style it smaller ??)
Kids do their qualifiers in a certain year so the gallery has to be like that, I think it’ll be ok when it starts filling up and doesn’t look so spartan.

In reply to: . s i l e n c e . – my idyllIt would be a cool site to have a php based css “colour theme” switcher… Quite easy to implement and then you could have selectable gloomyness ??

In reply to: . s i l e n c e . – my idyllIt’s a really nice little design. Only thing I didn’t like was the small light grey stripe across; for a split second I thought I was back in Netscape 3 using frames X-)
If it was mine, that’s the only thing I’d change. Perhaps a bit more deadspace above the nav. links too; looks a bit lost up there if I have loads of tabs open in FF.
Can’t understand a word of it, but very cool.

In reply to: Location of PagesI would think apache or something could do some clever url rewriting to change blog/index.php?page_id=XXX to ../pageXXX but I don’t think it’s a trivial solution, depending on what kind of access you have to the server.
There’s bound to be someone more clever than me who can help you out though…

In reply to: New Workingbath DesignLike the interactive nav, pretty spot on really. The simple clean layout is very appealing.

In reply to: Newbie Hell: MySQLI’ve always used phptriad in windows. It’s a single install of apach/php/mysql. Of course you still need to set up the DB using phpmyadmin or the command line.
Whats your exact problem with phpmyadmin ? It’s usually fairly straightforward ?
