I just noticed something else. On the blog posts, I’m getting a 404 error. But on the pages I’m getting a broken link error. Does that help?

I put in just /%postname%/ like you have above. When I click on “edit,” the permalink comes back with the site name and the category correctly. It reads:

https://caraccidentandinjurylawyer.com/auto-accident-information/

When I click on “view page,” I get the same pages that say “broken link.”

OK, I changed it back to the default setting and the pages will open again now. But the permalinks are not the way they need to be. How can I change their structure without breaking the pages?

I’m not sure what that means, but try opening any of the other pages on my web site once you get to the home page. They all give a broken link error message.

From what I understand, you never put the domain name in the custom URL structure box, right? Here is what I put in there:

/%post_id%/%category%/%post_name%

Do I need to add something else?

That’s my point. I changed the permalink structure as Joe said to, and now I’m getting an error message. The permalinks are now as I wanted them, but the page won’t display. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Wait, I found the “edit” button…I hadn’t clicked “edit” on the previous page, so it wasn’t showing up. But I’m still getting broken link notifications on everything but my home page. Help!

Sorry, I’m probably making this hard, but I still don’t understand what I’m supposed to type in that custom URL box. Do I literally type in /%category%/%postname%/ if that’s the structure I want to use? Or do I type in the actual names of the categories and post names that should go in those spaces? I’m a creative, not a programmer, so this is like Greek to me! Also, can I set a different custom permalink for each page, or will that happen automatically once I set one of these up?
