If this topic is of the utmost importance to you, I wonder what the situation might be with other, less urgent matters. This plugin has been the only obstacle preventing my shop from running fully on HPOS for months. I must admit, I’m a bit perplexed as to why it has taken so long. I had not anticipated that rewriting a few order calls would require a year and longer.
We have now reached version 8.8.3 of WooCommerce. The official compatibility statement indicates that the latest version is 8.3. Therefore, we are approximately six months behind in terms of updates. Another issue is that the legacy WooCommerce API is still being used, which requires a separate WooCommerce plug-in to continue supporting this functionality. This in turn means that WooCommerce HPOS cannot be used as the sole storage location for WooCommerce orders, and that a constantly active synchronization process must also keep all data in the old tables up to date. This unnecessarily bloats the database and slows things down. I can only assume that using the current endpoints shouldn’t take a developer half a day to complete.
