Do you publish the text(Welcome to Natural Footwear!) using the normal WordPress page/post format or you have a special customized template in your theme that displays this text?

are u talking about pagerank index or
your page/post being ranked in SERP? Just in case you are talking about SERP, using WP SEO helps ur posts get ranked in google, but no higher raking is guaranteed. with or without the plugin, your articles are supposed to be indexed anyway. have u tried searching your articles in google?

Uncheck if u don’t want the date showing up in search engines. However, if this box was checked before publishing your post, the date is going to show up in google.
if it’s now unchecked, then the post needs to be recrawled and indexed before changes can be made. You may use ‘fetch as google’ tool from WMT to fetch it

1. if your theme has custom built-in SEO, make sure it has been disabled.

2.save changes to the WordPress SEO meta-description again.

3.finally, it takes time for google to recrawl your site and index it. it depends on how often your site is crawled. sometimes it can take more than a week.
