Thanks for the quick response. I tried disabling the shipping calculation and it did speed things up, but still not as fast as deactivating the plugin altogether. Disabling the shipping calculation decreased the load time of the checkout page from ~20 seconds to ~15 seconds, but without the plugin the load time is ~8 seconds. 8 seconds is already too slow to begin with so adding even more time is a no-go for me, unfortunately.
