In reply to: [IP Geo Block] Critical Error and locked me out of wp adminThis plugin has not been supported in YEARS!! Surprised WP still has it out there since it does have this warning message –
“This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Cannot Add or Duplicate a tableYou were correct, Tobias!! It took only 2 disabling of plugins to find the culprit – an Activity Log plugin from Solwin Infotech (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/user-activity-log). All is well now that it is de-activated.
On another note…as I mentioned previously, we’ve been using your plugin for numerous years now. I can’t remember for sure when I started, but I think it might have been when you first came out with it! So I’m feeling kinda guilty about not buying the Pro version-;)
But a couple of questions first:
- Can I just install that version over the free 2.1.7 version that we currently have?
- Also, I have your DataTableWidgets v1.7 and the ResponsiveTable v1.8 extensions installed. Since those features are in the Pro version, do I just install them afterwards, first, or will the Pro version automatically remove them
- Lastly, I assume the TablePress->Plugin Options section with my custom CSS for colors, column widths, etc. will stay in place as-is, correct?
- Any other caveats with installing the Pro version?
Thanks again for all your help and a great plug-in…looking forward to many years of the same.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Cannot Add or Duplicate a tableOK. Thanks re the php stuff. I have not had a chance to disable plugins yet as that is something I’ll have to do late at night since this is a prod site that takes new memberships throughout the day. When I did set the WP_DEBUG constant to true, I got the same results – just a blank white screen when trying to Add or Copy. I should have a chance to shut off plugins later tonite. Thanks again -chuck

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Cannot Add or Duplicate a tableHi Tobias,
I got this info from DreamHost support:
“We have once again checked on the error logs and we are not seeing
anything related to the issue. It might be PHP compatibility or PHP
limits. What we can try do first is try updating the PHP limits by
following the instructions here:
https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/sections/203272338-Custom-Configurations “This is kind of a stretch for me so I’m going to ask them if it’s something they will do. Are there any particular settings that you would recommend?
Thanks again,

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Cannot Add or Duplicate a tableI used FileZilla and checked the error log for yesterday but nothing relating to TablePress there – just a few warnings. I then tried again this AM right after trying to copy a table but again, no errors. So I edited the WP_DEBUG constant to be true. I’ll try copying a current table and adding a new one now then turn it back to false as this is a prod site.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Flamingo] Address Book QuestionTakayuki — Any additional thoughts as to why only certain members were brought in and just have User in their history — no Contact Form-7 replies? Also, is it OK to delete those entries? Thanks!

In reply to: [Flamingo] Address Book QuestionIt’s weird that it just pulled in those 30 users out of 700+ members. If I click on those names in the Flamingo Address Book with just “User” and delete them, I assume they only get deleted from the Address Book and not the main WordPress Users database, correct? Just want to remove the clutter so the data is more accurate when I export it.
Thanks again,

In reply to: [WP Activity Log] Broke many sites on updateI also started getting fatal errors but only when a member enters a username/password incorrectly. I just submitted a copy of the log on your support page.
Worked great up until this so I hope you can resolve it quickly.
Thanks, Tobias. Yes, I found that same css in one of your support replies regarding Search having to be turned on. I also ran across one that gave the code for changing the width of the border around download box. I’m still trying to learn CSS so they were both very helpful. I can copy-and-paste; just can’t figure out where to find the specific code required!
Speaking of which…a couple of questions. I was wondering:
1) why did the command to hide the Search box start with a “#tablepress” rather than a “.tablepress” like the others in the Plugin Options?2) it looks like that #tablepress command is global and turns off search for all tables. Is there a way to make it apply to just a specific table or tables?
3) Is it possible to hide the column that is being filtered? In my specific case, CATEGORY is column #1 but if I check the box at the bottom of that column and select HIDE, that then changes the dropdown box to filtering on the next column. That’s just a nit but I do think it would look nicer if that redundant info is not displayed.
4) Lastly, and so I don’t have to nag you with more cosmetic questions-;)….
where should I look to find these various css commands that I would put in the Plugin Options section? As always, thanks for all you do — GREAT JOB!!
-chuckFound it!! Sorry, I didn’t realize that the Search feature had to be turned on for filtering to work. That fixed it-:)

In reply to: [IP Location Block] Local database settings failed to copy@wyclef and @darkog
Well, I ran into a couple of weirdities. I cloned my production site to a dev sub-domain a couple of days ago then installed IP Location Block and updated its database without a problem. So I don’t know why it would not update on my prod site. But here’s another weird one. After installing it on the dev site and doing a couple of database downloads that gave no error messages, I then ftp’ed out to the folder with those .BIN files and noticed the timestamps on the BIN files don’t seem to change.
Lastly, a co-admin on our prod site lives in Michigan. I’m in Florida. His ip address was locked out of our prod site yesterday. The log said his country code was “ZZ”. So I’ve de-activated the plug-in on our prod site.

In reply to: [IP Location Block] Local database settings failed to copyI deactivated and uninstalled the IP Location plug. NOTE: It does not remove the folders and files under /wp-content/uploads/ip-location-block/ — I ftp’ed to the site and manually deleted IP2Location folder, its 3 sub-directories, and the 2 .BIN files.
Then I reinstalled and activate the plugin. Under its settings it says “IP Location Block: Now downloading geolocation databases in background. After a little while, please check your country code and “Matching rule” at Validation rules and behavior.”
I waited about 10 minutes and it never created the /wp-content/uploads/ip-location-block/ folder so I deleted your plugin and went back to IP Geo block.
I can’t give you access to our prod site but will make a fresh clone over to my test area tomorrow or Saturday if you haven’t figured things out by then.
Good luck!

In reply to: [IP Location Block] Local database settings failed to copy@darkog
That’s what I thought and that’s where I manually placed both files the other day. But let me add this bit of info to make it even weirder! I just logged in and noticed the message under their location said that they were recently updated:Last update: May 27, 2021 9:55 am
So I naturally thought something must be working and clicked on the Manual update button again to give it a shot. But I got the same “copy_failed_ziparchive Could not copy file.” message.

In reply to: [IP Location Block] Local database settings failed to copyI tried both. The first time I just de-activated IP Geo and installed IP Location. Then I uninstalled IP Location completely and re-installed using the Migrate Now option.
Later tonite I will try uninstalling both then ftp’ing to the site and completely removing their folder structures. Then I’ll install IP Location from scratch again.
It looks like their databases are installed in completely different folders though, correct?
