Hi Daniel,
I still do not get any email from BackWPup. Is there a way to troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks a lot,
P.
Hi Daniel,
Although I keep WordPress and BackWPup up to date, this issue is not yet resolved. Any tip to troubleshoot it?
Thanks,
P.
I do receive email notifications from my WordPress installation whenever there is a pingback or a comment, yes.

I run daily backups and I can assure you the list is always empty. It has been empty for the past 5 days. Backup runs correctly though.
Thanks,
P.

In reply to: [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Update theme@devin: I suggest you start a new thread and/or send a detailed bug report through the plugin interface.
It happened to me two times in a year. Each time, the problem disappear within 48 to 36 hours, but I cannot pinpoint why: during this interval, I tried many things, including purging the file from the CDN, emptying cache, etc.
One thing you could do is to use a web inspector (in whatever browser you’re using) to see where the style element you’re being served is coming from. You have to make sure the changes were added in the cache version of your site and that you’re being served an updated cache version (not an old cache version where the change doesn’t exist). Logging out of WordPress and using a different browser (one you don’t usually use) maybe of some help.
This is some info you may add in the bug report.

Ah! I see! My bad: I didn’t realized it was for folder only.
And yes, fantastic, I see the option to “Backup wp-config.php, robots.txt, .htaccess, .htpasswd and favicon.ico from root.”. It’s checked for me. I’ll do a backup, download it and decompress it to see if it works.
Thank you very much. Again, amazing software. You were able to find simple solution to problems other paying plugins cannot overcome. Especially on the flexibility side: it’s really powerful.
Have a very good week,
P

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] HTTP loopback connexionHi Daniel! Thanks for the answers!
You wrote: “When http lopback connection not allowed you can start the job with a server cron from commandline or by executing a url.”
Are you talking about “Alternative cron” and “real cron jobs” (which can be set either from the cPanel or by command line).
Alternative cron is not an option for me. If you’re indeed talking about real cron, what frequency (how many times a day) should the cron be triggered for BAckWPUp to work properly (given that my installation, for example, do not require many scheduled task: only cache maybe).
Thanks,
P.
@jordanmcclements That looks really promising. It has option to let Googlebot crawl the site and also whitelist friendly referers.
As for allowing redirection to the original post, they talked about it here, provided some code to hack the plugin accordingly and wrote that it may be included in the upcoming versions. Which is great news.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi,
Thanks for the useful information. I don’t know about the “visible” value, but killing the “.big” class in WPTouch default stylesheet did the trick for me.
Marking this topic as resolved. Thanks again for your generous help.

@nina: It would be better for you to open another thread about this issue and, if possible, to provide more details about the nature of your problem. It would allow you to get more useful suggestions and comments.

One more thing,
I added some custom CSS rules to the Stats & Custom Code area but the code actually shows up at the bottom of each posts on mobile devices.
I’ve try clicking on the red question mark in this area to get more info, but nothing happens when I click on it.
Is there special rule I should follow when adding custom CSS in this area? Thanks.
P.
Ok! Got it.
For some reason, in the default css stylesheet of WPTouch there a class defined as follow:
.big { height: 200px; }
I don’t know to what element it’s supposed to apply, but in my case it applies to blockquote and lock the height of blockquote (apparently). If I kill the fixed value for height, than everything works just fine.
Do I need to do that directly into WPTouch default theme or can I add a blank
.big
class to my custom css into the The Stats & Custom Code area? Thanks,
P.
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate it! I did add a custom code, basically making sure that my custom blockquote is styled exactly as usual blockquotes in the mobile theme.
But I found out that was not the problem.
Using the Developer tool in Safari, I’m able to open the page as a mobile user agent (say iPod). I can double-check the result I have on screen with my own iPod.
When the window is resized (i.e. made smaller), text from a paragraph will be correctly reframed and push downward as the column gets narrower. The strage thing is new paragraphs won’t move accordingly. It’s as if
<p>
are anchored into the page. Since those won’t move, the text from the paragraph above will be pushed unto the text of the following paragraph, overlapping it and making it unreadable. You’ll find a good example here.I would greatly appreciate your insight on this. Meanwhile, I’ll keep looking into it.
Thanks,
P.
CORRECTION: I’m using the pull method.
