In reply to: [Custom CSS and JavaScript] save and publish css – no resultsHello.
Sorry for the delay.
It does appear that the minify option is related to the css disappearing from the @media print settings. I turned it on and off a few times and saw the difference in the print output.

In reply to: [Custom CSS and JavaScript] save and publish css – no resultsYes it did with other CSS editors.
It would be interesting to see what the CSS file looks like when it is saved. Maybe I kind find differences.

The CSS should be identical. I literally copy and pasted it to make sure the code was the same.

Yes I disabled the plugin.
I just tried it again right now and found that “@media print” may not be working. When I put identical code in your plugin and another similar plugin, the print output seems to be missing all the CSS.
If I get past this, I might be able to look at the other issues.
thanks,

That did it! It works now. Thank you. I had too much code in the other plugin to easily deactivate it.
all the best,

.patI think I have learned something about this.
Wordpress creates the thumbnails before ShortPixel compresses them.
ShortPixel has no influence on the file size of the thumbnails until after it compresses.
Wordpress is creating the thumbnails with larger file sizes than the originals.
Then ShortPixel compresses them.I solved the problem by uploading a jpg file instead of a png file and WordPress created thumbnails that are appropriately smaller than the original.
thanks,
.pHello.
I have more information about the image that seems to have grown in size.
If I access the web page using a browser with a wide viewport, I am delivered the original file, map.png at 35KB.
If I access the web page using a browser with a narrower viewport, I am delivered another file, map-1024×416.png at 355KB. I presume this has something to do with “thumbnails”.
If I run ShortPixel on the image to optimize the thumbnails, I still end up with a 103KB file.
Should the thumbnails be larger sized than the originals?
thanks,

In reply to: [Media Library Folders] Images Showing Below Left Menu After UpdateHello Alan.
My guess is that it is related to Phlox. The problem reproduces on my new web site which is working fine otherwise.
Hope that helps.

Before you put too much effort into it, I want you to know that I am building a second web site with the same pages and plugins. I am still not sure that my host provider was accurate when they told me my problems were in the plugins.
I will update you ASAP. But the power goes down a lot here when it storms and it is storming now.

I tried that and for each plugin…
– I deactivated the plugin
– I switched folders in MLF
– I refreshed the MLF tab in the browser
– I switched folders again in MLF
– I re-enabled the pluginI could not find the conflicting plugin.
This is not the first time I have had plugin compatibility issues. I am guessing the problem is caused by Phlox theme.

In reply to: [Media Library Folders] Images Showing Below Left Menu After UpdateInteresting. When you said WP SVG Icons, I thought we had a winner. But it turns out that I have it inactive. I uninstalled it anyway and WP MLF is still having the same problem.

Care to mention the plugin that causes the problem? I am experiencing the same thing.

.pat stylesThanks Alex.
I can buy that. Let me try everything you said before I bother you with more direct contact.
The larger image is kind of weird and the name of the file is modified and not what I expected. I will investigate more.
Your hint on getting the shortpixel dialog is probably all I need to track this down.
thanks!
