Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: replaced wp-admin folder – now backend no workI went in and deleted tables in wp_options from plugins I no longer had in my plug ins folder.
I then had to change file permissions for cron/admin etc
Now I can access control panel.
I may start from the beginning soon as I’m not comfortable I did everything properly… Who knows if I did any damage in the database tables
Know idea– looks like the issue was a conflict with a plug in and/or database updating during the attempted upgrade.
I would say I’m staying away from auto upgrade and potentially NGG Gallery plugin (though I have no info so far as to whether this was the culprit)
Sorry folks.
This was insane.

In reply to: replaced wp-admin folder – now backend no workI think there might be an issue with the htaccess file too…
note that I have my wordpress in root/wordpressi’m tempted to restore the database to last backup at this point.
If a fresh/clean upgrade didnt work, I’m not sure I understand.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: replaced wp-admin folder – now backend no workHeres a thought:
within the SQL database i see this:
Edit Delete 48 0 template defusion yes
Edit Delete 49 0 stylesheet defusion yesMaybe i’m having a template conflict with the upgrade? If so, how do i get the template to change back to standard without access to admin panel? Change variable in the database here? To what exactly? default?

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: replaced wp-admin folder – now backend no workI did the mentioned above– also did as mentioned in codex:
Use phpMyAdmin
* In the table wp_options, under the option_name column (field) find the active_plugins row
* Change the option_value field to: a:0:{}to disable plugins.
I now get this message:
Warning: require(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jgeiss/public_html/index.php on line 17
Warning: require(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/jgeiss/public_html/index.php on line 17
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/jgeiss/public_html/index.php on line 17
which sounds like an upload problem? Tried reuploading no luck.
Ideas?

In reply to: Can’t Get on Home pagein newbie arena- ive run into this ‘problem’ with login. Some templates dont show admin meta and this option can be turned on in the ‘widgets’ admin area for you to access. I usually pull up the page and bookmark the login page for easy access vs accessing page and clicking ‘login’
under ‘meta’ sidebarBy default- your domain plus the login link is where the login is located–
so https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.phpor if its under a directory within the root domain.com/#/wp-login.php
not sure if this is what you refer to– but sounds like what I ran to when i was new to all of this…
