In reply to: [Ultimate Wordpress Auction Plugin] Poor support, spams bidders with emailsWP Auctions. It takes a little more setting up but is reliable and cheaper. Works great.
Hi Nitesh,
I just received an email from the winner of my last auction, she is getting notifications that she won the auction repeatedly – she has had 38 emails so far and they are still coming in.
The Paypal invoice has also been sent, 6 days after the auction finished.
The auction finished on the 17th, but the notifications are being sent out now. I’m going to delete the auction in the hope that this will stop the emails from spamming my customer, but this is really unacceptable. If they don’t stop I’ll have to delete the plug in and ask you for a refund on the PaytPal invoice module.
Can anything be done to sort this out?
Could you also confirm for me that the plugin uses the wp_mail() function to send emails please? If so I can block wordpress from sending any more emails to my customer until the problem is fixed.
Thanks
Paul
Thanks, I’d be really interested to hear the results.
For my auction, bidders got the first bid notification email but nothing after that.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear Nitesh.
In the first auction, I required user registration. All notifications including the Paypal invoice were sent.
In the second auction, I did not require user registration. The notifications and the Paypal invoice were not sent.
I switched off user registration because the process of registration is a very poor user experience. It’s convoluted and doesn’t return people to the auction they wanted to bid on once they’ve registered. That’s very likely to stop people bidding.
What I would like is to be able to run auctions without forcing people to register, but with the notifications still being sent, including the Paypal invoice. Surely this is possible to do?
Thanks
Paul
Thanks Lisa. I’ve already paid for support so will post it there.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Kicked out from the wp-adminThanks very much Dave!
In the end I removed the plugin folder and deleted the two ‘Theme my Login’ rows from the database manually. I’ve reinstalled but am staying away from the themed logins now!
It’s a bit odd that the developer hasn’t answered any of these posts, there are some on his own site too that people have left, also unanswered.
I get that the plugin is free, and I appreciate the work that goes into it. I’m just a bit surprised.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Kicked out from the wp-adminThanks Dave, what you’ve posted is my strongest lead yet.
I have the same problem, version 6.3.5 on wordpress 3.5.1 with genesis 1.9.2.
I’ve gone into the wp_options table and found a row with an “option_name” value of “theme_my_login_themed_profiles”. I don’t see an admin setting with b:0, I have this:
a:8:{s:13:”administrator”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:6:”editor”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:6:”author”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:11:”contributor”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:10:”subscriber”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:13:”bbp_keymaster”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:13:”bbp_spectator”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}s:11:”bbp_blocked”;a:2:{s:13:”theme_profile”;b:1;s:14:”restrict_admin”;b:1;}}
Any clues?
Thanks
Paul

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Unable to access admin panelI’ve just installed 6.3.5, activated the plugin and went to activate themed profiles. After checking the tick box and saving, went to the themes profiles area. I left the settings in that area of the plug-in as they were and saved.
I can now no longer access my WordPress dashboard. Any URL I try 302 redirects to /your-profile/
I could ftp in and delete the plug in files, but after checking the database I’ve noticed some options set in the wp_options table, so I’m loath to do this. Plus I’d like to use the plug in, I installed it after seeing a recommendation at the PaidMembershipsPro plugin, which I’m also running.
