In reply to: [WP Quick Booking Manager] Wrong currency and wrong spelling guys!Thank very much for your reply. So basically, what you are saying is that the basic, free version is unusable, correct? ??

In reply to: [Prose] Really bad… please remove or rename this!!!Hi Jan,
Thanks for your reply. If you see that threat you will understand why we are saying and what the problem is.
On one hand you say to post in the respective forum for the conflicting theme and then you say the plugin author has no control over such an issue. Then it is a WordPress issue… logically. The author is forced to have control if WordPress enforces strict naming policy.
The issue is why does WordPress (whether. ORG or self hosted) allow this ambiguity to happen in the first place?
Shouldn’t there be a mechanism to stop
two themes being called the same name? Ie two themes names “Prose” as in this example. This kind of thing is taking down our sites so it a serious issue. The idea of disabling theme updates is an adhoc idea that does not address the problem but thankyou for suggesting it.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Prose] This this is overwriting my StudioPress PROSE theme!@andrew Nevins Don’t worry themes aren’t automatically updated by WordPress unless you explicitly tell WordPress to do so.
Don’t worry?? Sorry? I strongly disagree and so will 100% of the community I think.
This is EXTREMELY DODGY…
This kind of thing is deceptive and misleading. To have this go on is not acceptable. Genesis Prose (the *real* one) tells us that WordPress says there is an update ready for us. Then we update to this rubbish and lose our main site? No way.
No way is this ISSUE (and it is a SERIOUS ISSUE) the fault of Genesis Prose or Studiopress.
Not exactly a shining endorsement for using WordPress now is it? Let’s wait for some more band-aid solutions via the next update shall we? Or maybe not.
Can someone action this please as matter of urgency? I am darned sure Studiopress won’t be too happy about it. Genesis Prose is a brilliant theme which is being completely undermined by this situation.
Thanks.
Thanks mate I appreciate it. You’re a great guy Tobias – I might contact you via email to see if you are able to do some custom styling for my theme for me?
Best regards
Paul.Hi Tobias!
Thanks again my friend for your great help. Yes I was just about to send you my admin details when I had a thought. I disabled all plugins and then reinstated them one by one. I found the problem!
The problem plugin is Instabuilder. Not sure what the issue/s are with it but when I disabled it, the table displayed fine. When I re-enabled it, back to just displaying the table ID number.
Not sure what can be done about it – Instabuilder is pretty popular and I am unsure what the nature of the problems are but Tablepress and Instabuilder definitely do not work for me together. I wish they would both work co-operatively though ??
Thanks again and best regards
Paul.Oh an sorry for my bad typing! ??
Hello Tobias and thankyou so much for your quick attention ??
I tried your suggestion and switched to Twenty Thirteen and then added a new shortcode. Sorry to say that it ttill does the same thing. I also tried creating a new table whilst Twenty Thirteen was temporarily activated. Still the same. I all I get on the page are “[table id=3 /]”.
Yes, Genesis has it’s own shortcodes but no table shortcode that I know of. The regular shortcodes work.
Thankyou again,
Paul.Sorry I forgot to mention. Using latest version of Tablepress and WordPress. No errors thrown up. Just the short code appears on pages. No tables.
