Awesome. Thanks very much for both helping me restore my site after I wrecked it (see https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/twenty-fourteen-template-inoperable-after-minor-change-to-functionsphp?replies=5),
for teaching me the virtues of FTP, and solving my original query ??Ha Ha We are a pair of legends. I downloaded filezilla FTP client, took the FTP usernames and passwords my hosting service gave me, logged into my corrupted site, and also logged into another site I have which had a completely untouched copy of functions.php for the same theme already in it. Downloaded the good file to my PC, then uploaded it to my corrupted site and overwrote the dud file. Bingo – it works. Using the FTP client is in no way straightforward for a beginner but somehow I prevailed.
THANKS ?? for yor help and advice noted – lesson learnt ??
Hello and thank you. i’m glad theres a fix that doesn’t sound too hard.
I am new to all this. I think I can work out the FTP side but if I’m in my FTP area will it be clear where I download an original of the correct functions.php file from?

In reply to: Bullet point misalignmentHi DMBarber. Thanks for your speedy reply.
While I was seeking a permanent fix I decided to crop my text to put all of my bulleted info onto a single line, so I’d say this is why you didn’t see the text overwrapping problem. Sorry about that.
And re the images, I’m really pleased you could see them all. I have a shared hosting account on Site5.com (hosting is in Singapore – I am in Australia), and am using 3G internet at present – so what you suggest could indeed explain it. Potential employers won’t have the same bandwidth issues I could have on 3G- so that’s great.
thanks for the suggested coding and methodology ??
Best regards
Paul
