In reply to: wordpress docs (codex) 500 internal server error?nevermind, I think I figured that part out.
I was going through my .sql file like the tutorial says, and says I have to change all the URLs from my old URL to my new URL…but there’s like, a billion in there…I’ll just see how it works with out it, and maybe update it after if I need to

In reply to: wordpress docs (codex) 500 internal server error?ok, but how do I change the stuff in wp-config.php? I mean, I know how to change it, but I don’t know what to change it to…like, don’t I have to name it somehow? or, if I’m not making a new one, wouldn’t it just stay the same?

In reply to: wordpress docs (codex) 500 internal server error?I’ve got a quick question for you podz…I’ve just moved servers, and want to keep all my posts and such. I’ve downloaded my entire /blog/ directory (where all the wp stuff was), as well as exported the .sql via phpmyadmin…I’ve looked at your instructions, but I’m a bit confused as to how to restore? in your example, it looks like there’s already a database there…should I upload the /blog/ directory, create a new DB for it, then drop the tables in that DB, and then follow your instructions on that page?
thanks =)

In reply to: wordpress docs (codex) 500 internal server error?ok, it seems I can get to it now, but I can’t get to this specific page: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup

In reply to: OMG Help did I just lose my entire blog?!?!Not to worry mate! I’m just happy it’s fixed! Thanks to everyone who helped me out, especially to whoever posted the tutorial on changing the WP table values in the MySQL database, I think that was what it was, but it just took a day or so to take effect. Thanks again!!

look!: https://paul.buildtolearn.net/blog and https://www.paulfromcanada.com : they’re looking normal again! I don’t know what happened, because the last thing I changed was the thing using phpmyadmin to edit the option_value in the WP tables…maybe it just took a day or two to take effect!

In reply to: OMG Help did I just lose my entire blog?!?!@vkaryl – I downloaded my database and it gave me a file with a .sql extension…I’m assuming this is the right file.
anyways, I couldn’t find anywhere in the second tutorial that talked about the wp-config tables, or maybe I missed it….if you think that’ll work, could you elaborate? I need all the suggestions I can get.

In reply to: OMG Help did I just lose my entire blog?!?!another quick question though; the database I just downloading by “exporting” (via the first tutorial), if I delete all my WP database tables and restore them with the database I just exported, won’t the problem still be there? because I exported the database AFTER the problem occurred.
