In reply to: [Amazon Link] Location not recognisedHi, Sorry – I don’t use cloud flare so did not test the fix, but I’ll put your change into the next version of the plugin.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] prefetch images and store in media libraryHi,
I’ve fixed a few bugs in this area, can you test version 3.2.9, to see if this works:
Enable the
Use Media Library
Option in Settings.
Go to Post/Page edit -> Add Amazon Link window
Search for an ASIN or product to create a list of products, choose a template
Choose a product from the list of search results,
Select Upload to upload the image to the local media library.
Hit Insert
Save the post (or just Preview it)
View the post, the image should be from your local WordPress media library.Paul

I’ve updated version 3.2.9 to support Australia, could you give it a try out?

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Amazon Australia supportHi,
I’ll look into it, might not be able to test as my sites no longer qualify for affiliate status (they were hacked, and have not had time to rebuild them).
Did notice that there is 47% withholding tax on earnings though.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] shortcodeHi,
Sorry for not replying, been away.
To be honest I would not recommend running two Amazon product plugins in parallel, it will probably slow page load times too much?
However I could provide an extra plugin to change the shortcode if you still want this, if you do then let me know your preferred new shortcode tag, and I’ll see if I can put something together.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] prefetch images and store in media libraryHi,
Sorry been away, if you are using the ‘iframe’ template then this is not cached so that might be an issue.
Amazon only allows the retrieval of a handful of products at a time, so it can take several page refreshes to fully populate the Amazon Link cache.
I’d be surprised if it was the time to load the images from the Amazon severs that was a problem, so locating the images on your own server probably would no help.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Templates No Longer Can Be EditedHi,
I’ve not tried MU WordPress, under the standard install there is an option in _options table with the name AmazonLinkTemplates. I would not recommend editing it directly though!
The only other thing I can think of is some CSS issue, i.e. the template stuff is there it just is hidden.
In chrome if you right click on where the template should be and select ‘inspect’, are all the elements there just not visible?
Is this a single installation of WordPress that is affected, or is it on several sites?

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Templates No Longer Can Be EditedHi,
This is handled by the JavaScript in the file:
amazon-link/include/amazon-admin.js
Is it possible to check that this file is installed?, And that it is loading on the template page?
I think it is also used on the settings page, so you should be able to collapse/expand the various sections (
Display Options
,'Add Amazon Link' form Settings
, etc.).(Obviously I don’t have the problem, so can’t see any errors here). If your browser has a ‘console’ it may show a bunch of errors when you open the templates page or click on the template heading. Any of them look like possible candidates?
It might be some javascript in one of the templates is causing a problem? On the Settings page try enabling the ‘Disable Template Previews’ setting and see if you can now edit the templates. If it has then you can disable the preview for individual templates then disable the global setting and see if the problem goes away?

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Templates No Longer Can Be EditedHi,
When you say could not edit, can you give a bit more detail?
e.g.
Hitting UPDATE causes an update, but the template content has not changed?
On hitting the UPDATE, nothing happens?
The UPDATE button missing?
The Template Content text box is greyed out?Paul

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Use Shortcodes in templatesHi,
Sorry for the late reply!
The problem is the plugin is already insanely complicated and can be a drag on page load times so I’m always reluctant to add features that affect this.
I’ve created a separate plugin that changes the priority of the ‘the_content’ filter above, and adds an ‘esc’ tag that can be used anywhere in a post or in the amazon-link templates it takes the form:
<esc>Stuff to escape</esc>
I have not added the ‘apply_url_encode’ stuff above, but feel free to add this if you always want to encode your urls.
You can download a copy here:
https://www.lazyfox.org.uk/pydio/data/public/amazon-link-escape
This means that on any update of the Amazon Link plugin you do not have to edit that line again.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Some odditiesHi,
1. Can you give me a few product ASIN’s that are not behaving? I’m having trouble finding products that are not ‘available’ in other locales, I think Amazon just add them to all locales even if no one is selling then now.
2. This warning means that the plugin can not access the file at (https://www.ip2nation.com/ip2nation.zip), it won’t affect the plugins operation. It just can’t tell you if your version of the database is up to date.

In reply to: [Amazon Link] Moved to new host, plugin causing 403 errorsAre you hosting at krystal.co.uk?
I created the most basic account and set up a WordPress install, installed Amazon Link, and I’m not having any problems (yet).
However this is from my work, which is firewalling all the javascript and css, so it could be something to do with that?
I’ve tried enabling the following options which add various hooks and callbacks into WordPress and trigger different levels of functionality:
* Enable the Cache
* Enable localisation and install ip2nation DB
* Enable Media Library
* Enable User Associate IDs
* Add Associate ChannelYou could try disabling some of these to see if it helps?
