P.S. The progress bar in the Dashboard view in the Newsletter box, does say “sending” and it does show a small green slit over the pink bar.

Well, I can send you an e-mail to tell you the numbers if they will be helpful. I am also running lots of plug-ins. Plug-in Organizer and Cloudflare have been a great help in reducing page sizes (some plug-ins insist on putting their scripts on every page even if you only use them one one) and traffic stress.

In the meantime, yesterday I emptied..

HOWEVER, I am sending out my newsletter now (I have also just updated to the latest version of Newsletter) and “Progress” from the Newsletters view is empty. I would expect the data to be missing for previous newsletters, but why would it be empty for the current newsletter?

I like to regulate the sending speed during newsletter delivery on how much traffic is on the website and how close I am to the end of the send. I feel kind of blind without the information of how many are left.

I’m already to a virtual server. But the next step up is 10x the price – and I’m not making 10x the ad revenue! So I’m trying to nip and tuck where I can to stay at my level until I can afford to grow.

Which tables can I empty?

P.S. I meant I have individual tracking off.

I have stats turned off – unfortunately my server does not have enough processes and when I used to send out the newsletter with STATs the site would be down when people came to visit.

So… maybe those are old stats? How can I flush them out?

Thanks for the updates Hector! As I’ve grown I’ve moved to a virtual server so I have more control the aspects of my web hosting than before.

If someone grows large enough to worry about these things, they will likely have also moved to a better provider or package so their site can stop going down. : ) At least, that’s the path I took – though I am not really where I should be yet if I’m careful about caching and resource usage I can still get some mileage out of my set-up before moving to my very own server with as many processors as I want (at 10x the cost of course)!!

P.S. I will try this plug-in again to see how it holds up. When I had it running it great increased my reader sticky-ness. Because sometimes they don’t know what else to read, and seeing what interests everyone else is a popular choice.

I landed here looking for a solution to the same problem, but the link that @grenow posted with the explination no longer works.

I have since seen there is a jetpack update, I have installed it and they have been removed.

Still… I would like to know what happened. Was my site hacked? Do I need to change passwords?

Well I un-installed AMP pages and that “resolved” it. I hate plug-ins that require me to updated the permalinks each time -there is too much risk of accidentally clicking something that would change the names of all the pages on the website.

To anyone hoping to resolve the same problem without being lectured on whether a free theme has the right to roll-back white-label re-branding without letting anyone know or detailing it in their update notes….

Unfortunately, in the last theme update they removed the ability to edit this – you linked to instructions from 2014.

I’m either going to have to roll-back a couple of versions or change themes. It really suck because 1. this was not mentioned in the release notes and 2. I have spent hours customizing this theme to fit my husband’s website and there is no answer from the author on this issue.

AHA! That was it!

I did not have “Use Data Tables” checkbox enabled. Now the headers are finally sticking!! I apologize I don’t think I read about having that box checked but of course now it makes total sense.

Hmmm… I tried turning off Plugin Organizer, and that didn’t do anything. Then I turned the organizer back on and disabled every plugin on that page (using the organizer) and only left tablepress and the extension on and that didn’t work either.

In the meantime I bypassed the Server, HTML and Cloudflare caches and lowered the browser cache to 2 hours (that’s as low as I could go) but still, nothing.

I really don’t know what else to try.
