In reply to: Website Favicon No Longer Appears in Google, Tried EverythingI think I have the Favicon issue resolved.
Someone else helped me think further into this issue. I found where https://internettvdotcom.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Touch-Icon-for-iOS-and-Android.png was coming from. I went to my ‘Theme Options’ section that has the Favicon image there as well. Also, there’s a Touch icon image which is the same image appearing in the Google listings instead of my Favicon.
I uploaded/replaced both the Favicon image and Touch icon image with Favicon.png 192×192. I uploaded that image in my Site Identity section as well.
I also uploaded my Favicon.ico 192×192 in the root directory of my site.
For months, I thought Google was responsible for the orange with white image inside appearing on Google that replaced my Favicon. But that image was in my Theme Options >> General Settings the whole time.
My Favicon image wasn’t right so Google defaulted to my ‘Touch icon image’.
I think the Favicon issue will be resolved now. Just waiting for Google to crawl my site.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Website Favicon No Longer Appears in Google, Tried EverythingYes, the correct favicon is https://internettvdotcom.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/favicon.png
Google gave me the other favicon (orange with white image) almost a year ago when this change occurred. I had the wrong favicon size in the beginning. Tried correcting my favicon to multiples of 16×16 but didn’t work no matter what size I tried.
My favicon512x512 code is currently in the header…<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" />
I also uploaded the favicon.ico to the root of my site months ago. Didn’t do a thing for me. Then I did one more thing as I explained above when replacing the code in my theme’s header.
When looking at the page source, I do see…<link rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed" />
But the code above or any part of it is no where to be found when going to…
WP-Content >> Themes >>My Theme Name >> header.php
I even tried searching for… apple.
The instructions I read says…- Check your theme’s
<head>
section inheader.php
for the<link rel="apple-touch-icon-precomposed>
tag. - Remove or modify this line if it’s interfering, especially if you don’t need the Apple touch icon.
Easy-Peasy, right? But that code isn’t there to replace. Looks like Google made sure I can’t replace it and don’t want to give me my favicon no matter what I try to do.
I contacted Google support community about the favicon issue sometime ago, and got nowhere. I was told to wait on Google to crawl my site again and it’s been weeks now. This issue may also be related to my site being penalize with 90% of page rankings disappearing from Google listings. I’ll get back to Google with an update on what I did recently to try to correct the favicon issue that failed.

In reply to: Website Favicon No Longer Appears in Google, Tried EverythingAfter watching a YouTube video, I went into my theme’s Header.php file to edit.
I found, <link rel=”icon” href=”/favicon.ico”>
And replaced it with…
<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon">
Then I went into GSC to request indexing. I’ll see if Google recognizes and uses my favicon instead, hopefully in a few days.
My correct favicon has always appeared in my website pages/posts tabs.
BTW, I was informed, “A favicon size of 512×512 pixels is used for WordPress and is recommended for displaying well on phones and desktops”

In reply to: Website Favicon No Longer Appears in Google, Tried EverythingThanks, but I was told the size has to be in multiples of 16×16 which are all the sizes you gave me and this would include 512×512 (16 x 32). I tried some of those sizes months ago and still my favicon didn’t appear. I was told to try 512×512. After waiting for weeks, still my favicon doesn’t appear in Google.
I think the issue exist someplace else.
I cannot check Bing because my site is deindexed right now.Forum: Plugins

Also, Imagify is not Auto-Optimizing my images during upload.
Hello… Thanks for the help.
I followed your steps and scrolled down to “File Infos”.
There is a long red bar that says, “Has backup No”

I was wrong. What Hostgator did was a temporary fix. I could only optimize a few images manually. The bulk optimization failed. Try to optimize one image at a time again and that failed also.
I was told to close this Topic as resolved since other people have the same issue and wait for an update. So that’s what I’ll do.
Ok… I contacted Hostgator and they appeared to have fixed the issue with Imagify not optimizing the vast majority of images on one of my sites. I optimized one image after another and each image was optimized. I will now try bulk optimization and see what happens.
I tried the Helper plugin as it was suggested to me about a week ago. Nothing, it didn’t help me find the issue. No errors showed up.
Should I just uninstall Imagify and move on or can this issue be fixed?
I had no issue with Imagify optimizing my images on my smaller addon WP blog with a different theme.
I don’t know why most of my images are showing, “The backup directory is not writable’ and 1,171 Errors.
UPDATE:
Hours have passed and Imagify optimization is stuck on 170 Media Files Optimized with 10% of website images optimized. The numbers are not increasing and 967 Error still remains.
So that you know, I have the free version of Imagify with 296.54MB / 525MB used.
I installed/activated the Imagify Tools. Next, I activated and ran the Imagify plugin again.
So far it seems to be optimizing the images on my large website. The numbers are steadily increasing but I have 967 errors showing.
At the time of this message…
The Overview data is showing 8% of the media files optimized (74 media files) and 4% of my website images have been optimized so far.
I did not get this far the other day when the optimization appeared stuck.I’ll let you know how far I get or when completed. But all those errors do have me concerned a bit. Is there cause for concern.
Thanks for replying back. I believe I have the 403 URL blocks resolved. I had bots blocked in the Firewalls section on Cloudflare and deletes those. Google is now allowing me to index my posts inside my Google Search Console.
As for the addon WP How-To Video site, I don’t recall using a multi-site installation or subsite. It’s not a subdomain if this is what you mean.
So I should go ahead and activate AIOS again on my addon site? I never had a problem before. The 403 block was a separate issue.

In reply to: [Super Page Cache] Getting ?swcfpc=1 In All My Site’s URLsUpdate…
I searched for my site and inner pages from my incognito web browser and don’t see the ?swcfpc=1 extension.
Can someone explain what is happening and whether or not there is an issue? Again, I am also having an issue with testing my page load speed now. wasn’t like this before installing Super Page Cache for Cloudflare and setting things up.
I followed the setup instructions here…
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-cloudflare-page-cache/
————–Ok, so I found what the string means after the end of my site’s URLs…
What is the “swcfpc” variable I see at each internal link when I am logged in?
It is a cache breaker. It allows you, while logged in, to bypass Cloudflare’s cache for pages that might be cached.I’m just hoping Google and other search engines don’t index my WordPress Posts with URLs ending in ?swcfpc=1.

In reply to: [AMP] Install AMP on Video Sub-Domain and No Videos PlayedThanks for getting back.
No plugin to insert videos. My Covert VideoPress theme that I paid for some years ago has a built-in video insertion section. All I have to do is paste in the YouTube URL and select YouTube. I also host my own videos on Dropbox and paste that video URL. Then I select Video File.
It’s just the mobile theme (I tried 2 different themes) given me to select when setting up AMP on my sub-domain. No videos would play at all. I only get the image of the video.
But having tested AMP, I removed it and decided to continue what I already have. When using my Android smartphone to visit my video sub-domain site/theme, everything works including all videos play and I can see my Adsense Ads. I just wanted to see if the AMP plugin gave me some kind of advantage. I guess not in my case but the AMP plugin appears to be a good plugin nonetheless.
