In reply to: Subdomain install not workingHi, I just had a similar problem trying to install WP to an add on domain and I had forgotten that I had to set up the DNS servers at the hosting provider first. Have you done this already? I just did mine but it warns that it may take up to 24hrs for the address to propagate.

In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeThis issue has been resolved now and thanks for all your input.
The problem was these two lines in my config file – `define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://peteprzyszlak.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://peteprzyszlak.com’);`
They were change toHTTP://getmeoutofhere.me
and everything worked!
What I found somewhat confusing is that you could type in the url and you could access the blog normally even with the wrong url.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeHi esmi,
You probably missed it as I posted it on another thread before I was moved to here but I have already done that in as much that both my blogs are working and accessible – they were not before I added the extra define lines in wp_config. I think the issue I have is that maybe because I have tried to access “getmeoutofhere.me” admin account so many times with either the wrong user name or password combination that I am now locked out! I will try and re-set the name and password through phpMyAdmin as indicated by the link you sent when I can log in to cpanel at my webhost server.
Incidentally this is exactly where I am with help from my webhost.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeSorry to appear thick but I’m still not sure what you mean, to change a name does this mean I have to go through all the name registration and stuff or just change it somewhere by typing it in? If I look at the directory structure on my server, I have two subdirectories/folders in the public_html directory one for each domain name. Is this where I would change it?

In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeSorry but I am not quite sure I understand, do you mean in the wp-config file?
I have not changed any names, I have, as far as I know, created a new domain with both my blogs as add on domains one of which I can access without any problem and the other one I can not!
If as you say I should revert back to the original URLS, which I must admit I am not sure how to do, does this mean I would then have a newly created domain with nothing in it?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeNot sure what you mean? the whole operation was to bring my two blogs under one main domain name of peteprzyszlak.com I have not actually changed any names, merely moved them under a new umbrella i.e. peteprzyszlak.com/guitartisan.co.uk and peteprzyszlak.com/getmeoutofhere.me
Guitartisan works without any problem with logging in but I have been unable so far to log in to getmeoutofhere.me in order to post, edit or in fact change anything.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeAlready done that so if I type in https://peteprzyszlak.com/getmeoutofhere.me/
It takes me to the site but I can’t edit or post because when I type in
https://peteprzyszlak.com/getmeoutofhere.me/wp-admin
It returns in the address bar – https://peteprzyszlak.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https://peteprzyszlak.com/getmeoutofhere.me/wp-admin/&reauth=1
If I then type in any combination of possible user names and passwords, it either re-draws the screen with no error or says invalid user name or reverts back to my main WP blog. Before I changed the domain name I could log in with my original user name and password but now I don’t even get the opportunity to change the password.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeHi Andrea, probably not as I don’t know what it is. Not really sure as to what section I should be in? If there is somewhere else I should be posting this maybe you can point me in the right direction, any help will be much appreciated.

In reply to: Unable to login to wp-admin after domain name changeNo, I hardly had to do anything is was all taken care of by my very helpful webhost namecheap, they also sorted out another WP problem that I had where the pages looked completely unformatted and broken. They pointed to a technical bulletin which said I had to add another couple of lines to my wp-config file, and that worked fine.

In reply to: Guitar tuner Widget not working.I managed to get it working ok with the Kimili plugin after a few iterations ?? my next task is see if I can get it over on a side bar just like a “Widget”
Just copying the code with the exact URL https://freerangeeggs.s3.amazonaws.com/tuner24.swf does not even let me review the post?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Guitar tuner Widget not working. To Samuel B,
Thanks for the help, I downloaded the .swf player you suggested , uploaded the tuner.swf file to my S3 space, pressed the red flash button it provided and it came up with some dialogue boxes I could not quite work out, anyway after pressing the “Generate” button, it posted some stuff in my post box and I tried reviewing it and nothing happened (again)
Webjunk,
I posted the url of the file after uploading i.e https://freerangeeggs.s3.amazonaws.com/tuner24.swf and all I got on the review was just the url and an empty box below! Aplologies for being an idiot, but I am unsure what to do with the code you sent me to correct it ?? I’m sure there are substitutions involved but I don’t know what or where?)
To both,
Maybe I am misunderstanding the term “Widget” in as much as I thought it to be a stand alone application that will run alongside one of my own video’s that are being played by “Vipers-video-quicktags” – the plugin I use to embed my videos.
Do you think I should enlist the help of a web designer and just ask for what I require?
cheers

In reply to: [Plugin: Viper’s Video Quicktags] site-wide settingsOk, so I followed your notes to upgrade manually and that worked fine but, I still keep getting this message at the top of my dashboard that says –
An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now. !! I have already logged out and back in and also activated the new version but it don’t go away even if I click on the link. Any idea’s who I should ask about this?
