In reply to: Page specific menusA couple of days after I posted this, I found a
widget, called King Links that does this and a bit more. This will make it very easy for users to customize and maintain page specific menus via link categories with almost no knowledge or html or wordpress theme-speak.This simplified customizations is something that many CMS can’t do very well. It will make it possible for me to use WordPress as a very lightweight user-friendly CMS for the average non-technical user.

In reply to: RSS Export Encoding ErrorBoth versions of rss feeds for WordPress have this problem. The atom feed does not. Just found this out. So, for now, I’ll just skip WordPress rss feeds, and use atom feeds so the bug somewhere between WordPress and Magpie doesn’t ugly up my site.

In reply to: Cookies set locationThanks for the link and the plugin! I’ve downloaded it to try, since a plug-in would be much better solution than patching the code every time a revision is made.

In reply to: Cookies set locationStumbled onto the answer to my own question. The file I need is now pluggable-functions.php.
Why this sort of thing would be pluggable, I’m not sure.

In reply to: Cookie TTLI didn’t see anything in the wp-login file to change.
I found the TTL times set in “functions.php” in the “wp-includes” folder.
There’s a cookie for password and user, but they didn’t help with the password TTL used for page protection. I found that one in the “wp-pass” file in the root address. That fixed things, though it appeared to apply to postings, not pages.I’m curious now, though, about what the “password” cookie in the “functions.php” file is for? Why would it separate from the “user” cookie, and have a different TTL?
Good thing I had linux and grep or I’d still be searching for a things.
