In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] Killed heaps of used images@martin, when we run the plugin, it deletes all thumbnails again and creates only the standard formats of wordpress and all “add_size” entries from your theme.
To have no problem, I recommend you use this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Sorry for my english! ^^’
Thanks for the suggestion @nickbouton =)

In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] Version 2.03 Stops Processing ThumbsHi @teedev

Are your website running above windows or linux?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] TutorialsTo begin at the beginning: what is a thumbnail? Is it the preview image which is displayed in the Image Library and in the Image Editor and in the Page Editor/Add Media window? Or is it also the different sizes of the uploaded image which are automatically created by WP or by responsive themes?
Image = File uploaded
Thumbnail = Many images with many sizes, automatically created by WP on upload eventAnd does FRT delete all sizes of image which haven’t yet been added to a page or post?
No. All thumbnails are deleted and regenerated
And does FRT do anything as soon as I activate it or does it wait until I instruct it to scan?
FRT should be used only when you change the size of your thumbnail patterns (small, medium, large) or when you add or remove any statement
add_image_size
of your themeAnd are there any special considerations for Retina-capable themes or does FRT treat them just the same as non-retina themes?
Treat them just the same as non-retina themes
I’m sorry – this is very basic but I’m trying to understand the scope of FRT.
You are welcome =)

In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] FRT vs RTI’m hoping that FRT will regenerate my missing thumbnails and also delete all the versions of my uploaded images which haven’t been used anywhere.
FRT will delete all, and, regenerate again all thumbnails with the size wp default (small, medium, large) and all set
add_image_size
into your themeHow does FRT know that these “responsive” image variants will be needed on smaller screen devices?
FTR just delete all and regenerate. If you need some size especial, add how many
add_image_size
into your themeForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] FRT vs RTWhy is this good/better? Are there any circumstances where the RT way might be better?
It is always good for 2 reasons:
– Frees space when you change the sizes of thumbs
– If you do not change the size of the thumbs, the routine of wordpress will not create it againUpdate the wp_attachment_metadata and wp_attachment_file while regenerate
This fixes some bugs caused by the update of wordpress or some other plugin. FRT ensures integrity joined their images, thus ensuring the proper creation of thumbs
Use GB Image Editor to regenerate
GB is deprecated since version 3.5 +, however, in my opinion, is more efficient than the current library, so FRT use it

In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] Tutorials@chappie, yes only one and general.
The FRT has no secret, what else can we say in a tutorial?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Force Regenerate Thumbnails] FRT vs RTCurrently, the difference are that FRT:
– Delete all thumbnails before regenerate
– Update thewp_attachment_metadata
andwp_attachment_file
while regenerate
– Use GB Image Editor to regenerateForum: Plugins
