On our side we tried to reproduce the same issue and it works fine. Could you maybe share a screenshot of what are you experiencing?

Does it happens for all posts or only a few? Can you try to create a simple post with a paragraph and switch to the block editor to see if you’re able to reproduce the error? Beside the classic editor, what other plugins do you have installed?

It should work the same way. I’ve done a research into the AwesomeFont forum and I found this: it seems that icon shortcodes are not rendered within any editor view (whether the block editor or classic editor) because that’s not currently a feature.

After looking into your website HTML it shows that it uses the following plugin to manage who can visit the site based on their age: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/age-gate/

It seems that when the plugin have been activated, the following URL has been put into the form provided by the plugin: https://www.fusel.tv/wp-admin/admin-post.php

That’s why people need to log in, because that URL points to wp-admin (and you need to be logged in to enter it).
